Hero Wars April Mysterious Island Map: Is It Worth Exploring?

The April Mysterious Island map in Hero Wars brings some interesting choices. With several viable routes and resource rewards, the key question is: how do these paths compare in terms of value and efficiency? Thanks to Dr. Steain’s detailed analysis—based on his own calculations, the Hero Wars Guide calculator, and HW.fun—we now have a complete breakdown of the best strategies for this event.

Before we break down each route, let’s take a quick look at the grand prizes available in this event. The map features 5 towers, each containing a major reward and a Pattern Chest. These grand prizes include:

  • 2,000 Chaos Particles for pet development
  • 1,500 Skin Stone Chests to power up your heroes
  • 60,000 Titan Skin Stones for your titan lineup
  • 15,000 Emeralds (two towers offer this prize)
  • 1,000 Choice of Great Insignia

In addition to the tower rewards, you can also find a Red Equipment Chest and an Orange Equipment Chest elsewhere on the map—not inside the towers. These extra rewards can further increase the value of your chosen route.

Full-Clear Route: All Towers

This route targets every single tower on the map, giving players the full event experience. Following this path requires 75 explorer moves and provides a consistent value per move—ranging between 2,600 and 2,800 emeralds. These numbers are in line with what we saw in February and March’s event maps. However, the highest recorded value per move is still from the Time to Love event.

This approach is ideal for players who want to maximize every reward available and have enough explorer moves to reach all towers.

Modified Full-Clear: Skip One Tower

April Mysterious Island map by skipping a single tower containing 2,000 Chaos Particles, players can save 7 explorer moves—completing the route with just 68 moves. Despite this adjustment, the value per explorer move remains nearly identical to the full-clear route. It’s a great strategy for players looking to optimize without sacrificing value, especially if they don’t prioritize Chaos Particles.

Bottom-Only Route: Minimal Moves, Maximum Value

This strategy focuses on the bottom section of the map. You’ll only need 34 explorer moves but still unlock 3 towers. The rewards include:

  • 15,000 emeralds
  • 60,000 titan skin stones
  • 1,500 hero skin stone chests
  • 5 pattern chests of your choice

Even with fewer moves, the value per explorer move is strong—between 2,550 and 2,700 emeralds. This route is ideal for players who want high returns without committing to a full-clear.

Bottom Route With Chaos Particles

This variation of the bottom path adds the 2,000 Chaos Particles tower, requiring 42 explorer moves in total. That’s 8 extra moves compared to the previous version. Despite the detour, the value per explorer move stays very similar—some sources even show a slight improvement. If you’re collecting Chaos Particles, this path is a worthy upgrade.

Right-Side Route: Red Equipment Focus

This path focuses entirely on the right side of the map and avoids the bottom section altogether. You’ll need 39 explorer moves and open 2 towers. Key rewards include:

  • 15,000 emeralds
  • 1,000 Choice of Great Insignia
  • 3 pattern chests of your choice
  • 1 Red Equipment Chest
  • 1 Orange Equipment Chest

The average value per move is competitive, although HW.fun shows a slightly lower return. Still, the inclusion of high-tier equipment makes this a solid choice.

Right-Side Route With Chaos Particles

This variation includes the 2,000 Chaos Particles tower on the right side. The total move count rises to 48, unlocking 3 towers. The rewards include:

  • 15,000 emeralds
  • 1,000 Choice of Great Insignia
  • 2,000 Chaos Particles
  • 5 pattern chests of your choice
  • 1 Red Equipment Chest
  • 1 Orange Equipment Chest

Despite the extra moves, value per move remains strong—between 2,500 and 2,700 emeralds. This option is great for players looking to gather premium gear and Chaos Particles in one run.

Emerald-Only Route (Middle or Bottom)

If your only goal is emeralds, one option is the tower located in the middle or lower part of the map. This route takes 24 explorer moves and provides:

  • 15,000 emeralds
  • 1 pattern chest of your choice

However, this route gives the lowest return—between 1,300 and 1,450 emeralds per move. If you’re strictly after emeralds and have limited moves, it’s a simple option, but not the most efficient.

Emerald-Only Route (Top Right)

The top right tower also contains 15,000 emeralds and 1 pattern chest. Reaching it takes 25 explorer moves. The value per move is slightly better than the middle route—ranging from 1,300 to 1,485 emeralds per move—but still falls short compared to multi-tower paths.

Double Emerald Route

If you want to go after both emerald towers—the one in the middle or bottom and the one in the top right—you’ll need 44 explorer moves. You’ll get:

  • 30,000 emeralds
  • 2 pattern chests of your choice

This approach increases your return compared to going for just one tower, but the value per move still doesn’t match the more efficient multi-tower routes.

Conclusion

April’s Mysterious Island map offers several strong paths, depending on your goals and available explorer moves. The best value per move is still found in routes that target multiple towers, especially those on the bottom or right side of the map. While this event doesn’t dethrone Time to Love in terms of sheer efficiency, it remains competitive with recent months.

Choose the route that aligns with your priorities—whether it’s emeralds, Chaos Particles, or high-tier gear—and you’ll be making the most of this event.
