Introduction
Greetings, Guardians of Dominion! Zeus here with another enlightening analysis. Today, we’re taking a deep dive into Folio’s first skill, Weight of Knowledge, breaking it down in full detail to understand its mechanics and how to maximize its damage potential.
This guide isn’t focused on specific team compositions or perfect battle accuracy. Instead, the goal is to analyze the skill’s raw mechanics and how it performs in different situations. If you’re looking to master Folio and unleash his full potential, this is for you.
Understanding Folio’s First Skill – Weight of Knowledge
Skill Overview
Folio’s ultimate skill creates a blot above the enemy team, which expands over five seconds. The longer it channels, the more damage it deals, reaching a maximum of 174,603 base damage at full charge.
This damage is calculated as:
➡️ 150% of Folio’s Magic Attack
➡️ Flat bonus of 13,100 damage
Bonus Damage from Intelligence Difference
On top of the base damage, Weight of Knowledge gains extra bonus damage based on Intelligence difference.
➡️ For every 100 Intelligence points more than his opponent, Folio deals an extra 530 magic damage.
➡️ This makes Folio especially strong against tanks, warriors, and agility-based heroes who have low Intelligence stats.
However, my Folio is not fully maxed yet—he is missing artifacts and rank 5 ascension, so the numbers will be even higher once fully upgraded. For now, we work with what we have and analyze how the skill performs.
How Channeling Affects Folio’s Ultimate
Folio’s skill is designed to deal more damage the longer it channels. However, there are scenarios where this channeling can be interrupted, affecting the final damage output.
When Does Channeling Stop?
Folio’s ultimate is interrupted in two situations:
1️⃣ If Folio is killed before the five seconds are up, the blot stops growing, and damage is applied based on the time it had to expand.
2️⃣ If Folio is killed and replaced by an illusionary copy, similar to Amira’s ultimate, the channeling is disrupted.
However, unlike Amira, Folio’s ultimate will always deal damage even if he is eliminated.
Example:
➡️ If Folio’s maximum damage is 175,000 after five seconds, but he is killed at four seconds, the skill will still deal 140,000 damage.
This means that even if Folio dies, his ultimate can still take down the enemy team. This is crucial in high-risk battles, where survival is uncertain.
How to Scale Damage – Best Ways to Maximize Weight of Knowledge
Two Sources of Damage
Folio’s ultimate damage scales from two primary sources:
🔹 Base Damage (Magic Attack Scaling)
🔹 Bonus Damage from Intelligence Difference
Boosting Base Damage
➡️ The base damage of Weight of Knowledge is 175,000, calculated as 150% Magic Attack + 13,100 flat damage.
➡️ Increasing Folio’s Magic Attack will directly increase this damage output.
Best Heroes to Boost Magic Attack
The following heroes provide Magic Attack boosts through their first artifact:
✔️ Nebula, Amira, Lian, Iris, Augustus, Judge, Celeste, Satori, Jorgen, Kai, Alvanor, Krista, and even Folio himself.
✔️ Polaris doesn’t directly provide Magic Attack, but frozen enemies take 140% more magic damage, indirectly boosting Folio’s effectiveness.
Example Calculation:
If Nebula’s 174,000 Magic Attack boost is applied, Folio’s damage increases to 435,000 per enemy hero. If he hits all five enemies, the total output is 2.1 million damage.
Extra Damage from Intelligence Difference
Folio’s second damage source comes from Intelligence scaling.
➡️ For every 100 Intelligence points above his target, Folio deals an extra 530 damage.
Example Calculation Against Dante
✔️ Dante’s Intelligence = 3,196
✔️ Folio’s Intelligence = 15,815
✔️ Difference = 12,619
➡️ 12,619 divided by 100 = 126 extra damage multipliers
➡️ 126 × 530 = 67,000 bonus magic damage
Since Folio steals Intelligence through his other skills, this extra damage will be even higher against agility and strength-based heroes. His total skill damage can exceed 500,000 per hero, meaning a full five-target hit can deal over 2.5 million damage.
Maximizing Intelligence Drain – Best Heroes to Pair with Folio
To further amplify Intelligence difference damage, Folio can be paired with Satori.
✔️ Satori’s Eternal Wisdom skill steals 260 Intelligence per attack, and this lasts until the end of battle.
✔️ This enables Folio to completely strip Intelligence from enemies, dramatically increasing his bonus damage.
Folio Needs Magic Penetration – How to Break Through Enemy Defenses
Even though Folio has high base Magic Penetration, he will struggle against tanky heroes with Magic Defense above 50,000.
How to Ensure Full Damage Application
✔️ Use heroes with Magic Penetration artifacts
✔️ Pair Folio with heroes that lower enemy Magic Defense
Best Magic Penetration Artifact Heroes
🔹 Orion, Polaris, Faceless, Arachne, Lilith, Mojo, and Lars provide Magic Penetration artifacts, helping Folio break through magic-resistant enemies.
Best Heroes to Lower Enemy Magic Defense
🔹 Alvanor and Corvus can reduce enemy Magic Defense with their skills.
🔹 Stealing Intelligence also lowers Magic Defense, so heroes that strip Intelligence will further increase Folio’s damage output.
Augustus – The Ultimate Synergy
✔️ Augustus can convert Folio’s Magic Damage into Pure Damage, bypassing Magic Defense entirely.
✔️ This ensures consistent and unstoppable damage, making Folio a true magic powerhouse.
Final Thoughts – How Strong is Folio’s First Skill?
Folio’s Weight of Knowledge is a devastating ultimate that can deal massive area damage, especially when paired with Intelligence-stealing allies and Magic Penetration support.
✔️ Magic Attack scaling makes him stronger with the right buffs.
✔️ Intelligence difference damage punishes low-Intelligence enemies.
✔️ Proper team synergy can push his total damage over 2.5 million per cast.
