1. What is the Mysterious Island?

The Mysterious Island is a special exploration event in Hero Wars, unlocked once you hit Team Level 30. It appears alongside Seasonal and Special Events and introduces a strategic exploration mechanic. You’ll use Explorer’s Moves to navigate and uncover a fog-covered island packed with hidden treasures, key items, and exclusive loot like War Flags and Pattern Chests.

Daily Explorer’s Moves can be earned through quests, event participation, or boosted with subscription offers that also provide extra bonuses.

2. How the Gameplay Works

Island Layout Each event introduces a new set of interconnected islands. Some open fully at launch, while others unlock in stages. You always start from an Entry Portal, and every island features a distinct theme—some tied to in-game celebrations like the Summer Festival or Halloween.

Tile System The entire island is divided into hexagonal tiles. Initially, only a few tiles are visible, like Entry Portals, Towers, and Wood Tiles. The rest remain shrouded in fog until revealed by spending an Explorer’s Move. Once revealed, you can move between tiles freely.

Entry Portals Your adventure begins at the Entry Portal, which doesn’t cost anything to enter. It usually leads to a bonus tile that rewards 500 Emeralds and 3 free Explorer’s Moves. You don’t need to complete every section before accessing future islands—some paths unlock via bridge-building.

Bridges and Wood Collection Separate islands are connected by bridges, which require Wood to construct. Wood is collected from visible Wood Tiles, which don’t hold resources themselves but offer 500 Emeralds per bridge piece used. As of late 2024, many also come with Epic Chests.

Resource and Chest Tiles Hidden Resource Tiles contain predictable loot (the same for all players) like Gold, EXP Potions, or Titan Spheres. Chest Tiles are rarer and contain War Flag Patterns, often 2 of one type and 1 of another.

Towers, Rocks, and Sea Borders Towers are always visible and deliver high-end loot like Titan Artifact Spheres, War Flag Chests, and Emeralds. Sea Tiles form the edges of the map and are always visible but can’t be explored. Rock Tiles block internal movement and are revealed only when adjacent tiles are uncovered.

3. Essential Items

Explorer’s Moves The key currency of Mysterious Island. One move uncovers one adjacent tile. You can gain them by progressing through the event or by purchasing event bundles and subscriptions.

Wood Collected from specific tiles and used to build bridges across islands. Each piece of wood used rewards you with 500 Emeralds.

4. History of Mysterious Island Events

• Standard Duration: Most events now last through 3 Seasonal Events.
