Every Hero Wars Pet

Hero Wars Pets are powerful companions that fight alongside your heroes in battle. Each pet brings a unique active ability and passive Patronage bonuses that can completely transform how a hero performs. Browse the full roster of Hero Wars Pets below and click any pet to read its full guide.

What Are Hero Wars Pets?

Hero Wars Pets are special companion units that fight alongside your heroes in battle. Each Hero Wars Pet operates in two distinct ways: as an Active Pet that uses a powerful ultimate ability during combat, or as a Patronizing Pet that grants your chosen hero massive passive stat boosts and a unique secondary skill. You can bring one active pet into each fight, while your remaining pets work passively through Patronage — meaning every pet you unlock and level has real value, even when it isn’t your frontline fighter.

Why Violet Rank Is Everything

One of the most common mistakes new players make is spreading chaos particles across all their Hero Wars Pets trying to reach Blue rank. Blue rank only delivers a minor stat boost — the real power unlocks at Violet rank, where each Hero Wars Pet gains its Patronage ability and starts making a genuine impact on battle outcomes. Pets like Cain and Oliver are barely relevant at Blue rank, but become game-changers the moment they hit Violet. The smartest approach is to push one pet all the way to Violet before spending resources on the next.

Key rule: Focus one Hero Wars Pet to Violet rank before moving on. Spreading resources thin across all pets is the #1 mistake players make — and it can cost you weeks of progress.

Hero Wars Pets Priority List

The right upgrade order for your Hero Wars Pets depends on your team composition and whether you’re focused on Guild Raid bosses or PvP. Here’s the recommended priority order from highest to lowest impact:

  • 1
    Cain
Top priority if you’re running Dante or Aurora. Get him to Violet before any other pet. Without Dante or Aurora in your lineup, Cain drops significantly in priority.
  • 2
    Khorus
Excellent protection against enemy control effects. Less urgent if you already have Sebastian, who provides similar protection.
  • 3
    Albus
Essential with Maestro now in the game. His Patronage makes a massive difference for magic damage dealers, especially Heidi and Augustus.
  • 4
    Axel
The go-to pet for slow-paced teams and a must-have if you’re pushing Osh level 160. Lower priority for players not actively focused on Osh progression.
  • 5
    Oliver
Supports Isaac in Osh battles above level 130 and provides solid Patronage for tanks. Less urgent if Osh and Dante/Aurora aren’t part of your current strategy.
  • 6
    Merlin
The best pet for magic-focused teams. If your main damage dealers are mages, Merlin should jump up your personal priority list.
  • 7
    Biscuit
Boosts armor for tanks like Rufus and physical damage dealers like Iris. A solid mid-tier pick for physical teams.
  • 8
    Fenris
Shines in PvP through his Blind ability and the bonus he gives to Sebastian’s Ode to Serenity. More versatile than Vex overall.
  • 9
    Vex
Slightly outperforms Fenris in Osh specifically, but offers less versatility elsewhere. A situational pick for dedicated Osh-focused players.
  • 10
    Mara
Best for control-heavy team compositions, but countered directly by both Khorus and Sebastian. Sits at the bottom of the list for most players.

Gem Upgrade Cheat Sheet

Every Hero Wars Pet has two gem sides: the left side boosts the pet’s active team ability, while the right side improves its Patronage. Not every pet is worth investing in both — upgrading the wrong side wastes precious chaos particles. Use this cheat sheet to spend your resources where they actually matter:

Pet Upgrade Side Notes
Cain Right (Patronage) Patronage is where Cain’s value lives
Axel Both Sides Strong in both active and Patronage roles
Oliver Right (Patronage) Patronage is the main reason to use Oliver
Khorus Left first, then Right Prioritize active ability first, then upgrade Patronage later
Albus Both Sides Valuable in both roles — invest fully
Fenris Right (Patronage) Patronage gives the best returns for Fenris
Merlin Both Sides Effective in both roles for magic teams
Vex Right (Patronage) Active ability underwhelming compared to Patronage
Biscuit Right (Patronage) Armor boost Patronage is the key value driver
Mara Both Sides Both sides are relevant if you’re running a control team
