Totems are among the most powerful assets in Hero Wars, and acquiring them is no easy task. That’s why the game features a Bad Luck Protection system that ensures players receive guaranteed totem fragments after spending a specific amount of emeralds at the Altar of the Elements.
What Is Bad Luck Protection?
The Bad Luck Protection system guarantees a totem fragment drop after spending a designated number of emeralds, even if you’re unlucky with random rewards. As your collection grows, the emerald requirement for the next guaranteed totem fragment increases.
💡 Note: Totems can be acquired randomly through spheres or guaranteed via this system.

How Progress Works
Case 1: Totem Fragment from a Totem Sphere
- When you open a Totem Sphere and receive a fragment, your Bad Luck Protection progress jumps to the next tier.
- Example:
If you have 2 fragments and 45,000 emeralds spent, and you get a fragment from a Totem Sphere, your emerald count progresses to 466,667 — the next tier.
Case 2: Totem Fragment from a Titan Artifact Sphere
- If you receive a totem fragment from a Titan Artifact Sphere, your emerald progress does not reset.
- Example:
With 2 totems and 45,000 emeralds spent, receiving a totem from a Titan Artifact Sphere keeps your count at 45,000. The next guaranteed drop is still at 850,000 emeralds.
Element Matching for Early Fragments
Your first two totem fragments (from the Altar of the Elements or Totem Spheres) are guaranteed to match your strongest elemental team (Water, Earth, or Fire).
After that, totem fragments will drop randomly, regardless of your strongest Titan element.
⚠️ Important:
This rule does not apply to the Lesser Absolute Spirit Summoning Sphere — all fragments from this source are random from the start.
