Way of Mystery Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
The brand-new Way of Mystery Guide is here to break down every task, show you exactly where the real value sits, and walk you through the event shop so you know where your Mystery Coins should go. Way of Mystery runs for three days and, better still, it overlaps with Brawls — the perfect window to test fully maxed heroes before you commit resources of your own.
That overlap matters this time around. If you’ve been curious about Cascade’s new Relics, this event lets you see them in action first. Cascade also happens to be the featured hero, so if you haven’t built her yet — or you’re on the fence — we’ll cover whether the shop is a smart place to push her progress.
Every Task in the Way of Mystery Guide
The event includes seven different tasks: Day After Day, Value Exchange, Energy of Evolution, Generous Soul, Valkyrie’s Artifacts, The Way Up, and Soaring Might. Here’s a quick overview of what each one asks and what it pays out before we dig into the details.
| Task | What to Do | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Day After Day | Log in across all three days | 3,250 Mystery Coins + 60 Season Pass Points |
| Value Exchange | Spend Emeralds | Mystery Coins, Artifact Coins, Season Pass Points |
| Energy of Evolution | Spend 2,300 Energy (repeatable) | 3,300 Mystery Coins |
| Generous Soul | Earn VIP Points by spending real money | Mystery Coins |
| Valkyrie’s Artifacts | Open 30 Artifact Chests | 2,800 Mystery Coins |
| The Way Up | Complete Tower + open 11 chests daily | 7,750 Mystery Coins + 105 Season Pass Points + 2 Universal Relic Shards |
| Soaring Might | Complete Cascade objectives | Mystery Coins, Season Pass Points + 3 Universal Relic Shards |
Day After Day
The first task couldn’t be simpler. Just log into the game during the three days of the event and you’ll collect a total of 3,250 Mystery Coins along with 60 Season Pass Points. It’s free, it’s effortless, and there’s no reason to ever miss it.
Value Exchange
Here you earn Mystery Coins, Artifact Coins, and additional Season Pass Points by spending Emeralds. Before you part with anything, though, ask yourself one honest question: do I actually have a goal? Maybe you’re only a few levels away from reaching Level 39 in the Season Pass to unlock Cascade’s Dawn Skin, or perhaps you’re chasing another important milestone. If spending Emeralds gets you there, it can absolutely be worth considering.
One thing to keep in mind: this event doesn’t include extra discounts like Outland Chests or Heroic Chest bonuses. So don’t spend Emeralds just because a task tells you to. Spend because it helps you accomplish something meaningful for your account — always with a purpose.
Energy of Evolution
Spend 2,300 Energy and you’ll receive 3,300 Mystery Coins. Even better, this task is repeatable, so if you’ve been hoarding Energy Bottles it can become an excellent source of coins. That said, something we’ve repeated many times still applies: Hero Wars: Alliance is a marathon, not a sprint. Just because you can burn thousands of Energy today doesn’t mean you should. Plan ahead, protect your resources, and think long-term.
Generous Soul
This task rewards players for earning VIP Points by spending real money, and the advice never changes: only spend if you were already planning to. Never open your wallet simply because an event nudges you toward it. The event should reward your decisions, not create them for you.
Valkyrie’s Artifacts
Now we arrive at one of the most discussed changes. Valkyrie’s Artifacts has effectively replaced Secrets of Outland. Previously, opening Outland Chests awarded event currency, and even without discounts many players used those openings to bank enough currency for valuable shop purchases. That role now belongs to Artifact Chests, and opening 30 of them rewards you with 2,800 Mystery Coins.
There’s an important timing note here too: this task can line up with Guild VS, meaning opening chests on the matching day — and only that day — may help you push toward a double win. Worth watching for.
Honestly, this change creates mixed feelings. For newer players or anyone still developing their roster, artifact progression is always valuable — but at what cost? Endgame accounts face a different math entirely. Personally, I sat on around 7,000 Artifact Keys because all my heroes were already fully upgraded. Last event I spent roughly 3,000 Keys. Drop another 3,000 now and I’m down to about 2,000. If future events keep asking for Keys at this pace, years of saved resources could vanish in a matter of weeks — and that’s not healthy resource management.
Spend wisely, especially if you’re free-to-play or mid-game and still lean heavily on these Keys to upgrade Hero Artifacts. Think carefully before emptying your inventory, because once again, this is a marathon.
The Way Up
One of my favorite tasks in the entire event, The Way Up asks almost nothing extra of you. Simply complete your normal Tower every day and open your regular eleven chests — no Emeralds, no additional investment, just play as you already do. Across the three days you’ll collect 7,750 Mystery Coins, 105 Season Pass Points, and perhaps the most valuable reward of all: two Universal Relic Shards. Easy, efficient, and absolutely worth completing.
Soaring Might
Finally, Soaring Might centers on Cascade. If you’ve already upgraded her, most of the objectives complete automatically, letting you scoop up more Mystery Coins, extra Season Pass Points, and another three Universal Relic Shards. Very straightforward.
What to Buy With Your Mystery Coins
Now comes the important question — and the answer depends entirely on your account.
Beginners and mid-game players should look hard at Cascade Soul Stones if you’re still building her. Remember, you only need to reach five stars; from there an Evolution Book can finish the final upgrade. Beyond Cascade, the shop also stocks Artifact Boxes, Artifact Fragments, and equipment ranging from Blue all the way to Orange quality. Let your own priorities decide, not anyone else’s. If you’re only missing one expensive Orange item to complete a Hero rank, buying that piece directly can save you days — even weeks — of Energy farming. Sometimes efficiency is worth far more than simply saving currency.
For endgame players, the picture shifts. Most of the equipment and Hero resources no longer carry much value, which makes the Mastery Coffer the standout purchase. It packs resources every late-game account still needs: Small Skin Stone Chests, Large Skin Stone Chests, Energy Bottles, Rune Stones, and plenty of other progression materials. Pound for pound, it’s the most efficient long-term investment on offer.
Don’t Forget Brawls
Before we wrap the Way of Mystery Guide, a reminder about Brawls, because this is the perfect opportunity to experiment. Build a Cascade defense team, test different combinations, and see how her new Relics perform against the strongest meta teams around. There’s no better place to experiment than with fully maxed heroes, so take advantage of it — learn, adapt, and discover what actually works before investing your own resources.
Play smart, manage your resources carefully, and don’t let short-term rewards undo years of preparation. Handled well, this event is a genuinely rewarding three days.
