Faceless Teams and Synergy Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
Welcome back to Olympus Alliance. This Faceless Teams and Synergy Guide breaks down one of the most unpredictable controllers in Hero Wars: Alliance — a hero without a recognizable face, and sometimes without a predictable Ultimate either. Faceless is fascinating because his greatest strength can also become his greatest risk.
His Ultimate does not care whether the last skill came from an ally or an enemy. Instead, Faceless looks at the last Ultimate executed on the battlefield that can actually be copied, and then copies it. Because of that, every battle can create a completely different version of him. In one moment he can become an offensive weapon, and in the next a healer, a controller, a defensive support, a buffer, or something entirely different.
So playing him correctly requires more than simply dropping him into a strong roster. You need to understand what he can copy, and just as importantly, what the enemy can make him copy.
How Faceless Copies Ultimates
There is one enormous advantage that always remains, no matter which ability he grabs. When Faceless copies an eligible Ultimate, the copied skill is executed at level 240 — exactly double the normal maximum skill level. As a result, some absolutely ridiculous interactions become possible. Sometimes you do not need a complicated strategy at all. Instead, you simply need one powerful Ultimate, twice.
Now add another important detail. Faceless relies heavily on Magic Attack and has excellent Magic Penetration. Naturally, then, some of the most dangerous Ultimates for him to copy are magical attacks and control abilities. An Ultimate that was already threatening on its original hero can become considerably more dangerous when Faceless reproduces it with his own offensive stats and Magic Penetration.
The Double-Edged Sword: Timing and Enemy Awareness
However, this is not something you can evaluate by looking only at your own five heroes. You also have to look at the enemy. What Ultimates can they activate? Which ones can Faceless copy? Could an enemy activation interfere with the combination you are trying to create? With Faceless, timing can genuinely be everything, which is why this whole Faceless Teams and Synergy Guide keeps circling back to awareness of both sides of the field.
Faceless’ Own Kit and Utility
Thankfully, copying Ultimates is far from the only thing this mysterious controller brings to battle. His own control can be incredibly annoying. Faceless telekinetically lifts the nearest enemy and throws them into the center of the opposing formation, dealing damage and Stunning them.
Consider everything one action accomplishes. You remove the nearest enemy from their position, break the frontline, potentially expose the heroes standing behind them, group enemies closer together, and Stun the target on top of it. That creates a beautiful opening for Area of Effect damage. Instead of attacking a properly organized formation, suddenly several enemies can be forced into a much more vulnerable position. They lose momentum, they lose timing, and meanwhile your team gains an opportunity to attack the disruption Faceless just created.
Then he adds another layer. Faceless launches a ricocheting magical missile that can hit three enemies, dealing Magic Damage and reducing their Physical Attack for four seconds. Against physical compositions, that reduction becomes extremely useful. You are not simply damaging them — you are also reducing part of their offensive pressure while your team keeps working.
And then we reach another important part of his support. His perseverance and magical power allow him to increase the Magic Defense of the entire team. Altogether, that gives you a hero capable of copying Ultimates, disrupting positioning, Stunning, dealing Magic Damage, reducing Physical Attack, and reinforcing the team’s Magic Defense. That is an enormous amount of utility packed into a single hero.
Best Faceless Synergies
So who actually works well with him? The answer starts with heroes that thrive on the disruption and stat swings Faceless creates.
Best Ultimates to Copy with Faceless
Things become even more interesting once we start talking about copied Ultimates. Jorgen is a fantastic example, and Polaris is another. Both can provide extremely painful Ultimates for Faceless to reproduce, especially because his Magic Penetration can make those copied magical abilities even more threatening. Picture building your battle around one devastating Ultimate, and then Faceless simply says he will have one of those too.
The list does not stop there, either. Many powerful Ultimates become extremely interesting when copied by Faceless:
This enormous range is precisely what makes Faceless so unique. You are not really bringing one Ultimate into battle with him — instead, you are bringing the possibility of many.
Final Thoughts on This Faceless Teams and Synergy Guide
That flexibility, however, comes with responsibility. If you want a specific copied Ultimate, then pay attention to timing, pay attention to your allies, and absolutely pay attention to your enemies. Faceless does not know which Ultimate you wanted him to copy — he only knows which eligible Ultimate was used last. Sometimes that creates exactly the combination you wanted, and sometimes it creates something completely unexpected.
But when the timing works, when he copies the right ability, when his Magic Penetration amplifies the right magical attack, and when his own control has already broken the enemy formation, this mysterious controller can completely change the direction of a battle. That is Faceless: unpredictable, flexible, annoying to fight, and potentially devastating when the right Ultimate falls into his hands.
