Fall of the Veil shop guide

The Fall of the Veil shop is one of the most resource-dense stores the Alecto event offers, and how you spend your Sapphire Medallions here has a lasting effect on your account. Every item is priced at a single Medallion, which makes it tempting to buy broadly — yet a small number of purchases carry far more long-term value than the rest, and spreading your currency too thin is the most common mistake players make. This Fall of the Veil shop guide reviews every item in the store, explains what genuinely deserves your Medallions, and sets out a clear order to spend them in.

If you are still working through the event chapters, clear those first and use the Alecto Mysterious Island map to finish each encounter as efficiently as possible. Once the battles are behind you, the shop becomes the decision that matters most. The sections below break every purchase down by priority — beginning with the four items worth securing before anything else, then the reliable buys, the situational picks, and finally the purchases best left on the shelf.

Buy These Four Before Anything Else

Four items in this shop carry more long-term value than everything else combined, which is why they deserve your Medallions before any other purchase. Treat the rest of the store as secondary until these four are secured.

The Priority Four — Spend Here First

Zorval's Wing Fall of the Veil shop guide priority buy

Zorval’s Wing (500 / Medallion) — the single most important buy in the shop. You need it to Awaken and Evolve Alecto’s Artifact weapon, and right now this event is the only source anywhere. It does not appear in the upcoming Valdur Adventure, so if you skip it here, you simply do without.

Echo of Change Distortion Totem upgrade priority buy

Echo of Change (250 / Medallion) — used to upgrade the Distortion Totem alongside Emeralds, and there is no substitute for it. You cannot pay with Guild War Trophies or Clash of Worlds Trophies here, which makes every Echo you skip a hard gap in your Distortion progression.

Distorted Attack Seal Distortion Titan material

Distorted Attack Seal (500 / Medallion) — a Distortion Titan upgrade material you need now and will keep needing as more Distortion Titans arrive. You can also grab it during Valdur’s event, so if Medallions get tight it has a backup source — but stocking up now is never wasted.

Crown of Distortion Titan Crown upgrade material

Crown of Distortion (500 / Medallion) — feeds the Distortion Titan’s Crown upgrade, and like the Seal it carries forward into every future Distortion Titan. Valdur’s event stocks it too, so it shares that same safety net, yet it stays a core priority buy.

The takeaway is simple. If your goal is pushing Alecto or preparing for the upcoming Valdur, lock in the Artifacts and the Echo of Change above all else. Zorval’s Wing and Echo of Change are the truly irreplaceable pair, because neither has any other source; the Seal and the Crown are equally important but do have a Valdur fallback if you run short.

The Easy Buys (No Debate)

Once the Priority Four are handled, these two require zero hesitation. Both keep paying dividends long after Fall of the Veil closes, so grab them whenever they appear.

Large Skin Stone Chest Fall of the Veil shop guide buy

Large Skin Stone Chests — Buy

No debate here. Skin stones feed permanent stat boosts on every hero you care about, which makes these chests one of the cleanest value purchases in the entire shop.

Great Enchantment Rune easy buy recommendation

Great Enchantment Runes — Buy

Another effortless yes. Runes stay valuable through every stage of the game and keep paying off well past the event, so stock up without a second thought.

The Orange & Red Materials Worth Buying

Once your artifacts are covered, the only gear materials still worth a Medallion are the Orange and Red pieces — the hardest tiers to farm and the ones most likely to be holding your account back. Buy these where they match an active bottleneck. The Violet items are a different story this event, and the next section explains why.

Lycanthrope's Fang orange gear buy

Lycanthrope’s Fang — Buy

A strong Orange material, and Orange is where accounts bottleneck hardest. Whenever it lands on one of your active gear walls, it earns its Medallion.

Alchemist's Set orange material purchase

Alchemist’s Set — Buy

Reliable Orange value that rounds out the group of hard-to-replace materials. Prioritise it wherever Alchemist’s Set gear is choking your roster.

Dragon's Heart red gear strong option

Dragon’s Heart — Buy

The pick of the Red items. Prioritise it wherever your account is currently stuck on Dragon’s Heart gear.

Skip Every Violet Item This Event

This is the biggest departure from an ordinary shop guide. With the Distortion artifacts demanding every Medallion you can spare, none of the Violet items justify a purchase during Fall of the Veil. Each one is far cheaper to build through normal gear farming than to buy with premium currency, so pass on all five and keep your Medallions pointed at the artifacts.

Hand of Glory skip this event

Hand of Glory — Skip

A strong Violet material in general, yet not one to spend Medallions on here. You accumulate Hand of Glory steadily through normal play, so route this event’s currency to the artifacts instead.

Minotaur's Head skip this event

Minotaur’s Head — Skip

The same story as Hand of Glory. It is a useful upgrade component, but regular gear farming supplies it far more cheaply than a premium Medallion ever will.

Flaming Hearts skip this event

Flaming Hearts — Skip

Perfectly good gear material, wrong shop to buy it in. With artifacts taking priority this event, leave Flaming Hearts to your regular farming routine.

Giant-Slayer skip this event

Giant-Slayer — Skip

Normally excellent, but doubly skippable right now. Most accounts already stacked plenty of La Mort’s Cards last event, and even without that, the artifacts outrank it — there is no case for a Medallion here.

Trine skip this event

Trine — Skip

The classic trap. Rather than buy it, build it the cheap way through normal gear progression and Gold. Every Medallion saved here is a Medallion toward the artifacts that actually define this event.

It Depends on Your Account

A handful of items live in the grey zone. Whether they earn your Medallions comes down to where your roster and your stockpiles currently sit.

Bottled Energy situational purchase

Bottled Energy — Situational

Your call. Accounts already swimming in Bottled Energy from Hero Tournament of Power or Area of Conquest should spend Medallions elsewhere. If those sources run thin for you, however, this becomes a perfectly reasonable pickup.

La Mort's Card situational orange material

La Mort’s Card — Situational

Normally a fine Orange material, yet timing works against it. Most players banked a large pile of La Mort’s Cards during the previous event, so the majority of established accounts already have plenty. Buy it only if La Mort gear is genuinely your bottleneck; otherwise Lycanthrope’s Fang and Alchemist’s Set are the better Orange spend.

Aigrette of Nocturnal Cicadas situational red gear

Aigrette of Nocturnal Cicadas — Situational

Treat it like every other Red piece: worth grabbing when it sits on an active gear wall, easy to pass when it does not. Let your current bottleneck make the call rather than buying it on sight.

Spend With Discipline

Evening Curfew disciplined red purchase

Evening Curfew — Buy a Few

Not a bad Red item, just one that rewards restraint. Grab a few if you genuinely need them, then walk away. This is exactly where players quietly overspend without noticing how fast their Medallions vanish.

More Traps to Avoid

Beyond the Violet items, a few more purchases look tempting but quietly set you back. Steering clear of these is where the Fall of the Veil shop guide saves you the most Medallions.

Huge Experience Potion trap purchase

Huge Experience Potions — Skip

One of the weakest buys available. Yes, Experience Potions help during Hero Tournament, but your primary heroes are already max level or close enough that these barely move the needle. Spending premium event currency on a problem most established accounts do not even have is a clear miss.

Chaos Particle skip purchase

Chaos Particle — Skip

Despite the fat 700-per-Medallion stack, there is no reason to route premium currency here. Pass it and send those Medallions toward the harder-to-replace materials up top.

Flawless Artifact Chest skip purchase

Flawless Artifact Chest — Skip

Tempting on paper, weak in practice. The returns do not justify a single Sapphire Medallion when the Priority Four are still on your list.

Lesser Hero Soul Stone Chest skip purchase

Lesser Hero Soul Stone Chest — Skip

You only get one per Medallion, and the payoff for an established roster is negligible. Leave it and spend the Medallion on something that actually moves your account.

The Titan Section: Hold for Now

Here is where mistakes get expensive. None of these bulk Titan items are bad — and if you are rushing one specific Titan, the huge stack sizes look extremely tempting. The problem is that buying them directly is a strictly worse deal than letting the same Medallion roll into the End Conversion, as the numbers below show.

Titan Potion hold for Titan events

Titan Potion — Hold

Here is the math that kills it. One Medallion buys 20,000 Titan Potion directly — but if you let that Medallion roll into the End Conversion instead, you receive 10 Titan Resource Chests and can choose 25,000 Titan Potion from them. Same currency, 5,000 more potion. Buying direct is simply the worse deal.

Essence of the Elements hold for Titan events

Essence of the Elements — Hold

The same trap, an even bigger gap. Buying direct nets 40,000 Essence per Medallion, while converting that Medallion to Titan Resource Chests lets you choose 50,000 of the very same Essence. There is no reason to pay more for less.

Titan Skin Stone hold for Titan events

Titan Skin Stone — Hold

Identical story. The 15,000 you would buy directly is beaten by the 20,000 Titan Skin Stone you can choose from the Titan Resource Chests the End Conversion hands you. Let the Medallion convert and pick it up there.

Leftover Medallions: The End Conversion

Do not stress about Medallions you never spent, because the End Conversion catches them. When the event closes, unspent currency rolls over at these rates:

  • 1 Sapphire Medallion → 10 Titan Resource Chests
  • 3 Energy Crystals → 1 Titan Resource Chest
  • 1,500 Valor Coins → 1 Titan Resource Chest

This sets a hard value floor for the whole shop: every purchase has to beat ten Titan Resource Chests per Medallion. It is also the exact reason the bulk Titan items stay on Hold. Those chests let you choose which Titan resource you pull — and the amounts you can choose (25,000 Titan Potion, 50,000 Essence of the Elements, or 20,000 Titan Skin Stone) are all larger than what the same Medallion buys directly in the shop. Paying for those resources outright means paying more for less. The Priority Four and the hard gear materials, by contrast, clear the floor with ease.

The Golden Rule: Buy the Hardest Gear First

Whenever you do spend on gear, always prioritise the pieces that are hardest to obtain. Premium Orange gear often costs around one hundred Energy to farm, while cheaper items usually sit between sixty and eighty Energy, and that gap becomes enormous over time.

Your priority order stays simple: Orange first, then Red, then Purple. Orange gear has always been the biggest bottleneck in Hero Wars, since it is where Energy disappears, where progress slows, and where accounts get stuck. Nobody has ever said their run stalled on Red gear, so Orange is exactly where your focus belongs.

One caveat could flip the whole framework overnight. If the developers ever introduce Red +4 equipment, Red instantly becomes the highest-priority purchase in the game — but until that day arrives, Orange stays king.

Final Word

The difference between wasting Sapphire Medallions and turning them into real progression comes down to three habits: lock in the Priority Four first, avoid the obvious traps, and always think several events ahead toward Valdur. Because in Hero Wars, smart resource management wins far more battles than raw power ever will — and that mindset is the whole point of this Fall of the Veil shop guide. For a look at what is coming next, keep an eye on the Hero Wars event calendar so no Medallion ever catches you off guard.
