The Ultimate Eva Guide | Hero Wars Alliance

The Ultimate Eva Guide

Welcome to The Ultimate Eva Guide, where we compress everything we have learned about Hero Wars Alliance’s newest back-line Marksman into a single breakdown. Over the last few days we have picked apart her skills, stress-tested her mechanics, hunted for her counters, and thrown her against every Hydra Head. Instead of making you jump between videos, we have put it all in one place, so let’s start with the foundation.

Who Is Eva in Hero Wars Alliance?

Eva is a back-line Marksman from the Way of Progress, and her whole kit is built around one idea: staying far away and turning that distance into damage. Because of that, positioning and survivability matter far more for her than raw offense ever will. In fact, our biggest conclusion after developing her was simple — damage is not her problem, survival is. If Eva stays alive and gets the time she needs to aim, attack, and repeat, her output becomes ridiculous.

Eva’s Skills Explained

Impossible Shot

Eva aims for three seconds and then fires at the nearest enemy, dealing Physical Damage plus additional Physical Damage equal to 25% of that target’s maximum Health. That maximum Health wording is the key detail. If a target sits at one million maximum Health, that component starts from 250,000 additional Physical Damage before the usual battle calculations. As a result, the bigger the frontline, the scarier this shot becomes. However, those three seconds of aiming also hand your opponent a window to interfere.

Focusing Scope

This is arguably the most important mechanic to understand when building around Eva. She attacks the farthest enemy and applies Marked for nine seconds, and while that Mark is active the target additionally takes 50% of the damage dealt by allied Marksmen to other Heroes. Since Eva herself is a Marksman, she feeds her own Mark. There is one important limitation, though: direct damage transfers through Focusing Scope, but Damage Over Time does not. Therefore, don’t assume every Marksman damage number is automatically being shared.

Piercing Shot

This one is refreshingly simple. Eva aims and fires at all enemies in front of her, dealing Physical Damage across the line.

Marksmen Unity

This passive increases the damage dealt by Eva and all allied Marksmen, and the bonus scales with distance to the target, reaching up to 400% of the original damage. Consequently, this tells us something fundamental — distance matters. The farther Eva stays from her targets, the more she exploits it. That said, please don’t fall into the trap of thinking Eva must live inside a full Marksman composition, because she absolutely does not.

The Ultimate Eva Guide - Hero Wars Alliance back-line Marksman skills and build

With the kit understood, the next step in The Ultimate Eva Guide is building her so those numbers actually land.

The Best Eva Build

Glyphs

First, bring all five Glyphs to level 40. After that, our current priority runs Health, then Agility, then Physical Attack, followed by Armor Penetration, and finally Critical Hit Chance. Health leads because keeping Eva alive is the foundation of everything else. Agility sits second as her Main Stat, boosting both Physical Attack and Armor for offense and defense at once. Meanwhile, Physical Attack sharpens what she already does best, Armor Penetration helps that huge hit punch through enemy Armor, and Critical Hit Chance rounds things out last since her offensive ceiling is already excellent.

Artifacts

Start with Prime Access, since it hands Eva both Armor Penetration and Critical Hit Chance — two extremely valuable offensive stats for her. Next, develop the Ring of Agility to strengthen her Main Stat. Finally, invest in Ruiner, because when Eva uses Impossible Shot her Artifact Weapon can provide Critical Hit Chance to the entire team for nine seconds.

Spark of Power, Skins & Talisman

For Spark of Power, don’t overthink it — max it. Eva benefits from everything it offers across damage, survivability, and overall performance. For Skins, max her Default Agility Skin, and keep an eye on the upcoming Health Skin, which is genuinely exciting for the reason we keep circling back to: more survivability means more time to aim and more chances to deliver. As for her Talisman, the Talisman of Candidate gives Agility as its base stat, and our preferred rolls are straightforward — Armor Penetration, Armor Penetration, and Armor Penetration. She generates tremendous Physical Damage, so she needs enough penetration to punch through enemy Armor.

Build Slot Priority
Glyphs Health → Agility → Physical Attack → Armor Pen → Crit Chance
Artifacts Prime Access → Ring of Agility → Ruiner
Spark of Power Max it
Skins Max Default Agility Skin (watch the Health Skin)
Talisman Talisman of Candidate — triple Armor Penetration rolls

How to Counter Eva

If we are going to tell you how strong Eva can be, we also owe you the honest weaknesses. Almost every counter comes straight from her own design, because the thing she wants most — distance and safety — is exactly what a smart defense takes away.

  • Cleaver — Rusty Hook drags the farthest enemy toward the frontline, so Eva gets yanked out of position while losing the distance her kit depends on.
  • Jorgen — Leper curses the farthest enemy and redirects Physical Damage taken by the enemy team onto that target for ten seconds, and Eva is usually sitting right where he wants it.
  • Corvus — Altar of Souls retaliates whenever Eva damages his allies, and against a hero producing this much output, that retaliation genuinely hurts.
  • Kayla — she jumps straight into the enemy formation, bringing danger to the back line while Inner Flame adds nearby Pure Damage pressure.
  • Pure Damage in general — because survivability is her main flaw, Pure Damage is always worth exploring.
  • Control — a well-timed stun during her three-second aim can wreck Impossible Shot. However, her Antivirus Relic periodically removes control and blocks new effects for five seconds, so once Relics enter the picture, control stops being a guaranteed answer.

Best Eva Teams for Offense

Eva’s greatest strength right now is not one perfect team — it is her ability to solve problems. Rather than forcing a Marksman-only shell, we build the squad the specific enemy defense actually demands. Here are the five lineups we want to highlight.

Team Why It Works
Satori, Cascade, Byrna, Lian, Eva When Julius cleanses Satori’s Marks, Eva adds a second angle of pressure and shreds the big frontline early.
Drayne, Dante, Byrna, Eva, Polaris Eva’s damage stacks with Dante and Drayne, softening targets so Drayne can finish with Final Verdict.
Kendle, Cleaver, Crow, Eva, Aidan No second Marksman, and we don’t care — Cleaver protects, Aidan sustains, Crow answers magic, Kendle adds a second threat.
Eva, Iris, Julius, Aidan, Guus Protection and sustain wrap around Eva while Iris adds another dangerous damage source behind Julius’s shields.
Crow, Eva, Julius, Guus, Aidan The simplest philosophy of all — keep Eva alive, buy her time, and let her damage become the weapon inside the shell.

We have also found Eva particularly nasty against Electra compositions. Because Electra becomes frustrating when she stays up and keeps pouring protection into her allies, removing her early doesn’t just delete one hero — it collapses a big part of what keeps that enemy structure alive. Ultimately, that is the mindset we want you to carry: don’t ask where you can force an Eva team, ask what the problem in this defense is and whether Eva can remove it.

Eva vs Hydra: The Damage Results

Then we took her Hydra hunting, and this is where things got a little ridiculous. Our primary test team was Eva, Yasmine, Jhu, Sebastian, and Julius, and Eva was the highest damage dealer in every successful battle.

Hydra Head Eva’s Damage Result
Fire ~139.6M Victory
Darkness ~134.7M Victory
Light ~126.2M Victory
Earth ~120.4M Victory
Water ~112.9M Victory
Wind* ~41.2M Defeat

*For the Wind attempt we swapped Andvari in for Julius, so that battle isn’t a clean comparison and we won’t pretend it proves Wind counters Eva — it deserves another run under equivalent conditions. Still, five successful clears with Eva producing roughly 113 to 140 million damage every time is more than enough to get our attention. Is she the new Hydra Queen? She is certainly making a strong application for the job.

The Ultimate Eva Guide: Final Verdict

After everything we have tested, here is where we currently stand. Eva has extraordinary damage potential, her Max Health component makes large frontline targets incredibly appealing, and Focusing Scope opens a completely different way to pressure the back of an enemy formation. Marksmen Unity then rewards distance and unlocks powerful Marksman combinations, yet she is never trapped inside Marksman-only teams.

Her biggest concern remains survivability, which is exactly why Health, protection, positioning, and the heroes around her matter so much. She has real counters and clear weaknesses, and she is not an automatic answer to every defense — honestly, we like that. What Eva gives you is another tool and another opportunity, a hero that rewards understanding what you are fighting instead of blindly reusing the same composition. Remember, too, that this is still early days: Relics, new Skins, and future heroes can all shift these conclusions. So build around her strengths, protect her weaknesses, read the opponent, and when Eva hands you an advantage, exploit it.
