Gear and Glory Explained

If you have been following Balance of Power, then Gear and Glory Explained is the final piece you need before spending a single Event Coin. This Gear and Glory Explained breakdown pulls all three events together, corrects the earlier Defiant Edge numbers, and lands on one realistic minimum for the whole run: 225,500 Event Coins. From there, the real question is not how much you can earn, but what you should actually buy.

Before we get into this third event, however, we need to correct something from Part One. The numbers we showed for Defiant Edge were mathematically correct at maximum task completion, yet that was not the fairest way to present the event. A better starting point is a realistic minimum that assumes no VIP Points, no Emerald spending for extra attempts, and no huge stockpile of resources sitting ready to burn. If you can beat that minimum, even better — but the baseline should be something almost every account can reach.

Correcting the Defiant Edge Numbers First

Three tasks needed adjusting. Firstly, Generous Soul is removed because it requires VIP Points. Secondly, Power Balance drops out of the minimum too, since spending Rune Stones at those levels is not something every player can or should assume. Finally, Trial of Strength needed a proper correction. We get five free Arena attempts each day, and those free attempts clear three Trial of Strength milestones daily for 600 Event Coins. Across seven days, that works out to 4,200 Event Coins — and anything beyond the free attempts sits outside the minimum.

With those corrections applied, the Defiant Edge minimum shifts significantly. Here is the updated breakdown that we carry forward as our reference:

Defiant Edge Task Event Coins
Day After Day 3,500
Energy of Evolution 30,800
Hidden Reserves 26,250
Summoning Titans 37,100
Trial of Strength (corrected) 4,200
Payback Time 33,950
Corrected Defiant Edge Minimum 135,800

Could you earn more? Absolutely. Accounts with deeper resource pools, extra milestone completions, or a bit more spending will push past this figure — and that is a good thing. Still, 135,800 Event Coins is the number we are comfortable using as the honest floor.

Gear and Glory Explained: The Three Tasks

Gear and Glory runs for seven days, and the event is refreshingly simple because it contains only three tasks. Because two of those tasks feed directly off the earlier events, all three parts of Balance of Power really have to be analysed together.

1. Day After Day

Nothing complicated here — simply log in every day and collect the rewards. Over the full seven days, Day After Day delivers a maximum of 3,500 Event Coins alongside Brawl Tokens and Titan Skin Stones.

2. The Defiant Edge Milestone Task

This is where the event gets interesting. The second task rewards you again based on how many tasks you completed during Defiant Edge, so the more you cleared there, the further you progress here. Along the reward track you will find Event Coins, Nebula Soul Stones, Nebula Artifact Fragments, Season Points, Adventure Energy, Adventure Coins, Artifact Chest Keys, Skin Shop Certificates and even Nebula Red Gear much deeper in.

Using our realistic Defiant Edge progression, we reach at least the 260 completed-task milestone on this track, which pays out another 23,600 Event Coins. Anyone who pushes beyond 260 simply banks more value on top.

3. The Unbroken Bond Milestone Task

The third task works the same way but connects to Unbroken Bond instead. Since our Part Two calculation already used the more accessible progression, no correction is needed there. Those 30 completed tasks carry over and grant another 8,500 Event Coins.

Add those pieces together and Gear and Glory becomes very easy to total:

Gear and Glory Task Event Coins
Day After Day 3,500
Defiant Edge progression (260 tasks) 23,600
Unbroken Bond progression (30 tasks) 8,500
Gear and Glory Minimum 35,600

The Full Balance of Power Total

For the first time, we can now connect the entire event chain. Our corrected Defiant Edge minimum sits at 135,800 Event Coins, the Unbroken Bond calculation from Part Two holds at 54,100, and Gear and Glory adds another 35,600 on top.

Balance of Power Event Event Coins
Defiant Edge (corrected) 135,800
Unbroken Bond 54,100
Gear and Glory 35,600
Realistic Minimum Total 225,500

To be crystal clear, 225,500 is not a ceiling — it is a floor. This figure represents the minimum a typical account can expect using the methodology above, so anyone completing extra tasks, hitting higher milestones, or spending saved resources will end up above it. Either way, every Guardian now has a realistic number to plan around before touching the Event Shop.

Nebula’s Singularity Skin vs. the Relic Shards

Here is where the decision gets genuinely interesting. Nebula’s Singularity Skin sits in the shop for 90,000 Event Coins. With a minimum of 225,500 in the bank, yes, you can grab that skin and still walk away with 135,500 Event Coins to spare. But should you buy it on reflex? Not necessarily. Nebula may not even be on your roster, or you may have built her yet see far more upside elsewhere.

That elsewhere is usually the Relic Shards. The shop stocks shards for Miu, Kendle, Drayne and Somna. Each purchase costs 9,300 Event Coins for two shards, and you can buy each option up to ten times. Focus on a single hero, therefore, and ten purchases run 93,000 Event Coins for 20 Relic Shards.

Event Shop Option Cost You Get
Nebula Singularity Skin 90,000 1 Skin
Relic Shards (per pack) 9,300 2 Shards
Relic Shards (10× on one hero) 93,000 20 Shards

Personally, this is where my coins would go. A skin adds stats, and those stats can certainly help a hero, yet a skin alone rarely changes what that hero fundamentally brings to a fight. Relic progression can. Relics unlock additional effects and possibilities, which makes these shards extremely valuable long-term resources. So if Miu, Kendle, Drayne or Somna is one of your key heroes, those shards may matter far more to your account than a cosmetic upgrade.

Why the Relic Shards Deserve Priority

Relic progression is not something you usually finish in one event. Because each purchase grants two shards across ten possible buys, you can bank 20 Relic Shards from this shop for a chosen hero. If you already have some saved, that brings you closer to the 50 needed to unlock the relic path; and if you do not, those shards still count as progress toward the goal. These packs may return in a future shop or event — perhaps even soon — but nothing has been confirmed, so we will not promise it.

What we do know is that relics are long-term progression, and every shard matters. For that reason, anyone developing Miu, Kendle, Drayne or Somna should weigh these shards carefully before dropping 90,000 Event Coins on a skin just because it happens to sit in the shop.

That, ultimately, is the real lesson of Balance of Power. Don’t chase only the biggest reward or the theoretical maximum coin count. Instead, look at what your account can realistically earn, then look at what your roster actually needs, and finally make the Event Shop work for you. Our reference stands at 135,800 from Defiant Edge, 54,100 from Unbroken Bond, and 35,600 from Gear and Glory — 225,500 Event Coins in total. Anything you earn above that is a bonus, and the final decision belongs to you and your account.
