Trial of Legends Guide | Hero Wars Alliance

Trial of Legends Guide

This Trial of Legends guide breaks down every task in the second event of the Ascension of Glory series in Hero Wars Alliance, along with a clear free-to-play plan for how far you should realistically push. The event runs for seven days and stacks eight separate tasks on top of one another, so it is very easy to overspend if you chase every single milestone. Instead of burning through your reserves, we will focus on the smart breakpoints that protect your resources while still banking strong rewards.

Yesterday we covered Rising Legend, and now it is time to move into the middle event. On day three, we will pull everything together, look at the complete picture, and give you our recommendations for what could be worth buying in the shop. For today, though, our focus stays firmly on getting good value out of Trial of Legends without emptying your bank.

A Quick Word on the Free-to-Play Approach

Before we dig in, remember that this free-to-play Trial of Legends guide is written from the perspective of a player who is not spending. Naturally, there is real potential for other players to push harder, complete more tasks, and earn additional resources or Shop Coins. However, that choice belongs entirely to you. Our objective is not to complete every milestone simply because it exists; rather, we want a realistic path that gives good value while protecting the resources you have worked hard to accumulate.

There are also additional Trial of Legends rewards tied to the total number of tasks you complete. We will cover those milestone rewards in much more detail on day three, but for now we believe aiming for around 50 completed tasks is both achievable and worthwhile. Everything below is built around that target.

The Eight Trial of Legends Tasks at a Glance

There are eight event tasks to work through: Log In, Generous Soul, Wise Exchange, United Front, Power Balance, Beyond Horizon, Hidden Reserves, and Heroic Discovery. The table below summarises what each one asks for, alongside the free-to-play breakpoint we recommend so you can plan at a glance.

Task What It Requires F2P Breakpoint
Log In Log in each day of the event All 7 days
Generous Soul Earn VIP Points Skipped in F2P calc
Wise Exchange Spend Emeralds Cap at 2,500
United Front Guild Activity 20,000 (of 45,000 max)
Power Balance Spend Rune Stones ~275,000 (of 750,000 max)
Beyond Horizon Complete Expeditions Up to 48 (with Airship ad)
Hidden Reserves Spend Titan Potions Up to 250,000
Heroic Discovery Open Heroic Chests Around 10 (14 possible)

Log In and Generous Soul

Log In is exactly what it sounds like. Simply open the game each day across the seven-day window and collect your rewards, because nothing here is complicated. Generous Soul, on the other hand, asks you to earn VIP Points. Since this is a free-to-play analysis, we assume zero VIP Points for the calculation. If you are already planning to spend, you may progress further here, yet we are not including that progression in our numbers.

Wise Exchange: Spending Emeralds Wisely

Wise Exchange requires you to spend Emeralds, and there is something important to consider here. This event includes an Outland Chest discount period, which creates a better opportunity to use Emeralds even for free-to-play players who have been saving. That said, Emeralds are difficult to accumulate, so we do not want to recommend burning through your reserves just because a task is asking you to spend. For this reason, our reference caps at 2,500 Emeralds. If you have more available and already intended to use them during the Outland discount, you can obviously go further, but that decision should depend on your account.

United Front: Hitting Guild Activity Without the Stress

United Front is a task different players may approach in completely different ways. It requires Guild Activity, with the maximum requirement reaching 45,000 across the week, or roughly 5,000 per day. Honestly, that is a lot to ask. For this guide we therefore use 20,000 Guild Activity as our recommended breakpoint, which works out at just under 3,000 per day.

Especially for newer players, it helps to remember that Guild Activity comes from several sources. You receive 700 daily activity just from leveling a Glyph, and you can top up the activity you generate from spending Energy by dropping unwanted equipment into the Guild Forge, up to 2,000 activity per day. So there are multiple routes to your target, and the important thing is finding the approach that suits the resources on your account rather than forcing one specific method.

Power Balance: Timing Your Rune Stones

Power Balance is the Rune Stone spending task, and there is something very important to remember. Unlike some of the other tasks, you do not need to complete this every day, because you have the entire seven-day event to work through it. That flexibility gives us an opportunity to be smart with our resources.

There is an overlap with the Rune Stone spending day on Saturday, so if you plan to spend Rune Stones during this event anyway, consider waiting until then. That way the same resources contribute toward more than one objective. The task itself climbs all the way to 750,000 Rune Stones, which is a huge amount, so for this free-to-play plan we suggest stopping at around 275,000. That figure is roughly the cost of taking one hero to Glyph level 40, together with the daily Glyph progression you are already using for Guild Activity. Once again, efficiency is the goal; we do not want to spend 750,000 Rune Stones just because a milestone happens to be waiting.

Beyond Horizon and Hidden Reserves

Beyond Horizon is much simpler, because this is the Expeditions task. Across the week you can complete up to 48 Expeditions through free-to-play progression, as long as you also run the Airship ad each day. For most active players, then, this should be one of the easier areas of the event; just keep those Expeditions moving and collect the progress naturally.

Hidden Reserves is our Titan leveling task, and it asks you to spend up to 250,000 Titan Potions. Fortunately, Titan Potions are fairly accessible through the Dungeon and the Titan Merchant, so we assume most players can complete this one. There is also a very useful timing opportunity here. A Guild vs Guild task for spending Titan Potions lands on Monday, so if you do not urgently need to level your Titans today, consider holding those Potions until then. In that case, the same Potions push both Trial of Legends and Guild vs Guild. Additionally, if all of your Titans are already fully leveled, you can still spend Titan Potions in the Titan Merchant to buy a Hydra Horn, which means even maxed accounts have a way to complete this task.

Heroic Discovery

Finally, Heroic Discovery requires you to open Heroic Chests. From a free-to-play perspective you can only open 14 during the event, and this time there is no Heroic Chest discount. Because of that, we are not going to recommend spending extra resources just to force higher milestones. For our calculations we simply work toward completing 10 Heroic Chests, so if you naturally reach more, that is a welcome bonus rather than the target.

Smart Timing: Let One Resource Count Twice

The heart of this Trial of Legends guide is overlap. Wherever possible, we time our spending so a single investment feeds multiple activities at once. Rune Stones are best held for Saturday, when the dedicated spending day lines up with Power Balance. Titan Potions are best held for Monday, when the Guild vs Guild task rewards the very same spending. Meanwhile, the Glyph you level each day quietly contributes to both Guild Activity and your Rune Stone total. In short, a little patience turns one pile of resources into two rewards.

What Rewards Can You Expect?

So what does this measured approach actually earn? By skipping VIP Points, capping Emeralds at 2,500, targeting 20,000 Guild Activity, and stopping Rune Stone progression around 275,000, you should comfortably reach roughly 50 completed tasks. According to our calculations, that route delivers approximately 70,200 Ascension Crests, 18,800 Adventure Coins, and 430 Season Pass Trophies along the way.

Of course, if your account has more resources spare and you decide to push further, you can potentially earn more. These numbers are a free-to-play reference point, not the absolute maximum, so treat them as a sensible floor rather than a ceiling.

Trial of Legends Guide: Final Thoughts

Ultimately, Trial of Legends rewards planning far more than raw spending. Rather than chasing every possible milestone, look for the overlaps, hold your resources until the right day, and make every Emerald, Rune Stone, and Titan Potion work as hard as it can. With that mindset, around 50 tasks is a comfortable and worthwhile target for most free-to-play accounts. Next time, we will bring all three events together and share our recommendations for spending your Shop Coins.
