Hero Wars Aidan Guide 2026

Hero Wars Aidan Guide

This Hero Wars Aidan guide looks at one of the few healers who fits almost any lineup. Some heroes only work in one kind of team. If you build a magic squad, half your roster sits on the bench, and if you switch to physical, the other half joins them. A few heroes, however, don’t care what the rest of the team is doing. Nebula and Sebastian are the names everyone knows, yet there’s one hero people tend to forget to put on that list: Aidan.

Physical team or magic team, attack or defense, Aidan slots in and makes it better. That’s not luck, though, because it comes straight from how his kit is built. So below, we go skill by skill to see why he fits anywhere, where that flexibility stops, and whether he’s worth the investment.

If you’re looking for his skins, glyphs and artifacts, those are covered in our separate Aidan build guide, so we won’t repeat them here. Instead, this post is all about the why.

Bonds of Flame: A Bond That Doesn’t Pick a Side

Let’s start with the skill that defines him. At the start of every battle, Aidan creates a mutual bond with the farthest ally on his team. If Kayla is on the team, however, the bond always goes to her. From that moment, the two of them share health, so any damage one of them takes, and any healing one of them receives, passes to the other.

Now look at what this skill doesn’t ask for. It doesn’t care whether that ally hits with physical or magic damage, and it doesn’t need a specific faction or partner either. Whoever stands farthest from him gets the bond, and in most lineups that’s the hero holding the front line. In a physical team, for example, that could be Lyria. In a magic team, on the other hand, it’s often Electra. Either way, the hero taking the most hits suddenly has a second health bar standing behind them.

There’s also a detail here that matters a lot for our topic. The bond gives both heroes a bonus based on their basic Armor and Magic Defense — not one or the other, but both. As a result, Aidan’s protection doesn’t pick a side either. Against physical attackers, the bonus helps, and against mages, it helps just the same.

Inner Fire: Healing That Works on Anyone

Next up is Inner Fire. Aidan sends out a wave of fire that heals all of his allies. Notice the wording, though: all allies except himself. In other words, he spends the whole fight keeping someone else alive.

So how does he survive? From the very start of the battle, Aidan recovers health every two seconds. That recovery isn’t wasted, because the more health he recovers, the stronger his next healing wave becomes. Then, if his health drops below 30 percent, he sets himself on fire and doubles his regeneration. He keeps burning until he’s back above 60 percent.

Here’s why that matters for team building. Healing is healing, and it doesn’t care whether the hero it lands on is Ishmael or Orion. A healer whose value depends on the team’s damage type would be locked into one kind of lineup, whereas Aidan isn’t. On top of that, because of the bond, part of his self-recovery flows straight into his partner’s health too.

Phoenix’s Embrace: Five Seconds of Full Protection

His ultimate follows the same pattern. Aidan places a shield on himself and on his bonded ally, and for five seconds that shield absorbs any damage. Physical or magic, it makes no difference. When the shield ends, the ally’s shield explodes, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and placing the Phoenix Glyph on them.

Think about what five seconds of full protection does to a fight. Many teams build around a burst window, that moment where they unload everything at once to break the front line. If that window lands on Aidan’s shield, a big part of it is simply gone. Better still, when the shield breaks, it hits back.

Ignite: Pure Damage That Ignores Defenses

This brings us to the part of Aidan people tend to overlook: his damage. His fourth skill, Ignite, places the Phoenix Glyph on the nearest enemy who doesn’t have one yet. The Glyph then burns that enemy for six seconds, dealing pure damage. Once every enemy is marked, Ignite strikes out sparks instead, dealing magic damage to the enemies around the target.

Pure damage is the key here. Since it ignores both Armor and Magic Defense, Aidan’s main damage doesn’t need the team’s penetration support to land, and it doesn’t compete with the carries for their buffs. Put him in a physical team, and his burns still hurt. Put him in a magic team, and they hurt exactly the same.

Hero Wars Aidan Guide: Why He’s a Universal Pick

When we put all four skills together, the picture is clear. First, his protection boosts both Armor and Magic Defense. On top of that, his healing works on anyone, while his shield blocks any type of damage. Finally, his main damage ignores defenses completely. Nothing in his kit forces a team to be built a certain way, and that’s exactly what makes a universal pick.

Skill What It Does Why It Fits Any Team
Bonds of Flame Shares health with the farthest ally (always Kayla if she’s on the team); grants a bonus based on basic Armor and Magic Defense Doesn’t care about the partner’s damage type, and boosts both defenses
Inner Fire Heals all allies except Aidan; his regeneration every two seconds strengthens the next wave and doubles below 30% health until he’s back above 60% Healing works on any hero
Phoenix’s Embrace Five-second shield on Aidan and his bonded ally; the ally’s shield explodes for magic damage and applies the Phoenix Glyph Absorbs physical and magic damage alike
Ignite Phoenix Glyph burns for six seconds as pure damage; sparks deal magic damage once every enemy is marked Pure damage ignores Armor and Magic Defense

Where Aidan Shows Up

We see it on the battlefield too. On the physical side, he shows up next to Kayla, Lara Croft and Ishmael. Over on the magic side, meanwhile, he sits behind Electra while Orion, Cascade and Augustus do the damage. He can even take the healer slot in Dante lineups, and very few healers move between those worlds this easily.

Where Aidan’s Flexibility Stops

No Hero Wars Aidan guide would be complete without the limits, though, and they’re worth knowing. The bond is a shared health bar, which also means a shared fate. If the enemy focuses down either hero, they’re taking out both. Consequently, a team that can burst through the bond quickly turns Aidan’s biggest strength into a liability.

Then there’s Kayla. If she’s on the team, the bond always goes to her, no matter what. With her, that’s a huge advantage, because she dives into the enemy backline and Aidan keeps feeding her health the whole time. However, it also means that with Kayla in the lineup, the front line loses the bond completely. So “fits any team” doesn’t mean “does the same job in every team.” In the end, who he’s bonded to changes what he’s doing.

Is Aidan Worth Building?

From a value point of view, he’s one of the safest investments a healer can be. Most heroes become more or less useful as the meta swings between physical and magic. Aidan’s value, by contrast, barely moves, because nothing in his kit depends on that swing. Whatever direction your main team goes next season, the resources you put into him keep paying off.

That doesn’t mean he replaces every healer in every situation. In some teams, a different healer will fit better. Still, if you want one healer that won’t be left on the bench the next time the meta shifts, Aidan is very hard to argue against, and that’s the bottom line of this Hero Wars Aidan guide.
