Hero Wars Spooky Festival 2026

The Hero Wars Spooky Festival is the game’s Halloween event. It runs for seven days in late October. During that week, you get quests, a Spooky Cauldron full of prizes and its own store. Below, you’ll find every quest and reward, the Cauldron odds and the store items. You’ll also see when to expect the next one.

Spooky Festival at a Glance

  • Duration: 7 days, every year in late October
  • Who can join: team level 20 and above
  • Event currency: Ghost Energy (called Ghost Candy before 2025), earned from quests and spent in the Spooky Cauldron
  • Grand prize currency: Spooky Festival Coins, spent in the Spooky Festival Store
  • Where to find it: the event hub on the right side of Strongford

When Is the Next Hero Wars Spooky Festival?

The 2026 dates are not in the game files yet. However, the event has a very regular schedule. Since 2018, every Spooky Festival has started between October 25 and October 31, always for seven days. So the next one will most likely begin in the last week of October.

Hero Wars Spooky Festival Items and Currencies

Four items matter during the festival. So here is what each one does.

Ghost Energy (formerly Ghost Candy). You earn it from Spooky Festival quests. Then you trade it in the Spooky Cauldron for gifts from another world.

Spooky Festival Coin. It comes from the Cauldron and from the final quests of each chain. You spend it in the Spooky Festival Store.

Spooky Festival Doll – Hero Wars Spooky Festival

Spooky Festival Doll. Open it for a surprise prize. You can buy 20 dolls for one coin in the store.

Trickster Chest – Hero Wars Spooky Festival

Trickster Chest. When the event ends, the game exchanges your unspent Ghost Energy for Trickster Chests (100 Ghost Energy for 1 chest). Its contents are similar to a Spooky Festival Doll.

Tip: leftover Ghost Energy only becomes Trickster Chests, so spend it in the Cauldron before the event closes.

Hero Wars Spooky Festival Quests and Rewards

The Hero Wars Spooky Festival has eight quest chains. Their names stay the same every year, but the tasks behind them can change. For example, in 2025 “Ghostly Sleep” asked for VIP points, while in 2023 it asked for soul stones. The tables below show the 2025 rewards, which are the latest known.

Spooky Cauldron: Prizes and Odds

The Spooky Cauldron sits on the right side of the festival hub. Three ghosts guard it, and they trade presents for Ghost Energy. Each pull costs 250 Ghost Energy and gives one of these prizes:

These odds are the official ones. On top of that, the Cauldron guarantees a Spooky Festival Coin on your 3rd and 6th pull, and then at least every 15 pulls. As a result, the 63 pulls from your quest Ghost Energy give at least 5 coins, and usually a few more.

Hero Wars Spooky Festival Store: What to Buy

Next, the Spooky Festival Store is on the left side of the hub. Everything costs Spooky Festival Coins, and you can buy each item once per event. Since coins are scarce in the Hero Wars Spooky Festival, start with the items that are hard to get anywhere else.

Wish Crystals, Wish Insignias and the Hero Soul Stone Chest are usually the best picks here. Absolute Artifact Chests and Large Skin Stone Chests are solid, too. The Chaos Particles are easy to get elsewhere, so they come last.

Buy gear only when it is the exact piece a hero is stuck on. The Red items at 5 coins are the hardest to farm, so they offer the most value. In contrast, the Violet pieces at 1 coin are easy to farm in the campaign.

Furnace of Souls

Also, at the top of the hub, you’ll find the Furnace of Souls. Here you fight 10 waves of 5 monsters each. All heroes have maximum power, but each hero can only fight once per day.

However, only the number of monsters you kill counts. It doesn’t matter how much damage you deal or whether your heroes survive. Kill 250 monsters in a day to unlock all 9 daily rewards. They open at 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 and 250 kills. In addition, your kills count toward the Demon Hunter quests.

Mini-Games and Easter Eggs

Since 2021, the festival has had two mini-games. You can play each one once per event:

  • Three Puzzles for 2,000 Ghost Energy. Start them by clicking the pink lollipop to the left of the Cauldron.
  • Treasure Hunt for 1,500 Ghost Energy and an avatar (while it lasts). Find six hidden items, then solve a final riddle.

For the Treasure Hunt, look for these spots. The order doesn’t matter:

  1. The tombstone in the lower left corner of the festival hub.
  2. A ghost candy on the base or top floor of the Tower.
  3. The spider web in the upper left corner after you open the Artifact Chest in the Airship.
  4. A ghost candy at the back of the Guild Island.
  5. A blue lollipop in the lower right corner of the Titan Valley.
  6. The rooftop of the building in the lower right corner of Chapter 6 in the Campaign.
  7. Finally, a ghost in one of the windows at the back of Chapter 14. Click it to activate all windows, then turn every ghost into a light bulb.

Note that you don’t need to clear the two Campaign chapters. Instead, just visit them. Some spots need a guild. The Artifact Chest is the only step that costs something: 10 Artifact Chest Keys or at least 800 Emeralds. There are only two ways to clear all the ghosts in the last step.

Tips for the Hero Wars Spooky Festival

  • Log in every day. Fearless alone gives 1,750 Ghost Energy and 7 Explorer Moves.
  • Plan your spending. Energy, Emeralds and VIP points all count toward quests, so save big purchases for the festival week.
  • Use the Furnace daily. Each day, your heroes are fresh again, and every kill counts toward Demon Hunter.
  • Spend all your Ghost Energy. Leftovers only turn into Trickster Chests when the event ends.
  • Don’t miss the mini-games. Together they add 3,500 Ghost Energy, which is 14 more Cauldron pulls.
