Welcome to our Best Leonel Team Guide for Hero Wars Alliance. This one comes straight from the comments — especially from newer Guardians who have Leonel, want to build around him, but aren’t quite sure which heroes actually bring the best out of him.

Not every guide needs to be about the newest hero or the newest Relic. Sometimes you just want to know one thing: what can I actually do with the hero I already have? So in this Best Leonel Team Guide we’re looking at four Leonel teams that work, why the heroes fit together, and — most importantly — the synergy behind each composition.

Best Leonel Team #1: The Protected Core

You can immediately see what this Leonel team is trying to create. Leonel and Yasmine give you an aggressive physical foundation, while Guus, Soleil, and Aidan provide the support that gives that aggression time to work. Yasmine is especially important here — once she gets moving, she becomes extremely difficult for the opponent to contain.

But damage alone isn’t enough. You need an environment where your damage dealers are actually allowed to perform. That’s where Soleil gets interesting. Control and negative effects can completely interrupt an aggressive comp at the wrong moment, and Soleil gives you protection against exactly that kind of disruption. If Leonel or Yasmine loses momentum to control at the wrong time, the whole attack slows down. Soleil reduces that risk.

Then Aidan adds another defensive layer through his protection and sustain, keeping the important pieces alive while the offensive side of the team develops. And Guus fits beautifully between those two sides. You’re not throwing five attackers onto the battlefield and hoping someone dies first — you’re creating pressure, and then protecting that pressure.

For newer players especially, this is the lesson: sometimes making your damage dealer stronger doesn’t mean adding another damage dealer. Sometimes it just means giving them another second to fight. Another chance to activate. Another layer of protection. And that can be far more valuable.

Best Leonel Team #2: The Sustain Wall

This Leonel team goes in a different direction, and it’s a great option because you’re surrounding Leonel and Yasmine with several forms of support rather than relying purely on offensive pressure.

Byrna immediately gives the comp something incredibly valuable: sustain. She keeps showing up in powerful teams for a reason. Keeping a dangerous hero alive can be just as important as increasing that hero’s damage — Leonel and Yasmine need chances to keep applying pressure, and Byrna makes the team much harder to break. If you want to understand why heroes like her have climbed so hard lately, a lot of it ties back to how much the Relic system has reshaped the meta.

Then Alvanor brings another layer of protection and support, making the lineup increasingly uncomfortable for physical opponents to push through. And Octavia is where it gets particularly annoying — her defensive value against magical pressure, plus what she creates through dodge mechanics, adds a whole extra dimension.

Look at what you’re building. Enemy wants to pressure your core physically? There are defensive mechanisms making that harder. They want to solve it with magic instead? Octavia is another layer they have to think about. Meanwhile Byrna keeps the team recovering and present on the battlefield — and while the opponent is trying to solve all of those problems at once, Leonel and Yasmine are still attacking.

That’s the beauty of it. This comp doesn’t need to win immediately. It can survive. It can frustrate. It can create time — and every extra second gives your offensive heroes another opportunity to take control of the fight.

Best Leonel Team #3: Full Physical Pressure

This is where we take the gloves off. If the last Leonel team was about survival layers, this one is much more interested in raw physical pressure.

Tristan immediately changes the character of the lineup. When you build physical comps, the biggest question is always the same: how are you getting through the opponent’s defenses? You can have enormous Physical Attack, but if the enemy can absorb that pressure, those beautiful damage numbers don’t mean nearly as much. Tristan helps create the conditions for your physical attackers to become genuinely threatening.

Then you add Oya — another aggressive piece that helps create exactly the kind of battlefield where physical pressure snowballs quickly. And behind all of that, Leonel and Yasmine. Now the opponent isn’t dealing with one obvious source of danger; they’re dealing with several.

That matters. If a team leans entirely on one damage dealer, the counter is often simple — control that hero, neutralize that hero, kill that hero, fight over. But when several heroes contribute meaningful pressure, choosing what to stop becomes much harder. And Guus once again gives the lineup an important supporting presence so all this aggression isn’t completely reckless.

There isn’t much mystery about what this team wants. Tristan, Oya, Leonel, Yasmine — it wants to attack, it wants momentum, and once that momentum starts, it wants to keep pushing until the opposing formation collapses.

Best Leonel Team #4: Sustain + Disruption

This last Leonel team combines the Leonel and Yasmine offensive core with two heroes that keep coming up in strong teams lately: Byrna and Crow.

Byrna once again provides that extremely valuable sustain. But Crow changes the way the opponent is allowed to play. He brings disruption into the composition — and that’s important, because every moment the enemy spends dealing with disruption is another moment Leonel and Yasmine get to keep creating pressure.

This is where synergy isn’t always about directly increasing someone’s damage number. Disrupting the opponent can indirectly make your damage dealers significantly more effective. If the enemy’s rhythm is broken, if their abilities aren’t arriving when expected, if their plan keeps getting interrupted — your heroes gain space to operate. Byrna then makes sure your team has the sustain to actually take advantage of that extra time, and Guus completes the structure around the core.

So once again, Leonel and Yasmine aren’t asked to do everything themselves. They have support, sustain, and disruption around them — which lets them concentrate on what we put them in the comp to do: create pressure and help finish the battle.

Which Leonel Team Should You Build?

There isn’t only one way to build the best Leonel team for your account:

• Take the protected route with Soleil and Aidan.
• Build a highly sustainable comp with Alvanor, Byrna, and Octavia.
• Go full physical pressure with Tristan and Oya.
• Combine sustain and disruption through Byrna and Crow.

Which one? That depends on your account — and this is especially important for the newer Guardians who requested this Best Leonel Team Guide. Don’t burn your resources trying to copy a team just because you saw five heroes together on a screen. Look at what you already have. If your Yasmine is developed, that’s a strong starting point. If you invested heavily into Byrna, the Byrna variations probably make more sense. If your Tristan and Oya are already strong, you’ve got the foundation for the aggressive approach. If Soleil and Aidan are built, you already have excellent tools to protect your core.
