Complete Beginner Store Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
This Complete Beginner Store Guide for Hero Wars Alliance walks through every in-game store and explains where your currencies actually deliver value. If you’re a new Guardian, one of the easiest ways to waste months of progress looks completely harmless: buying the wrong things from the stores.
When you’re starting out, almost everything inside those stores looks useful. Soul Stones, Gold, Skin Stones, equipment fragments, Titan resources, Artifact resources and Energy all compete for your attention. However, those currencies are not equally easy to replace, and the real value of an item shifts depending on where you are in the game.
So in this guide, we go through the stores one by one, covering what beginners should prioritize, what becomes valuable later, and which purchases are generally better left alone.
The One Principle to Remember First
Before we get into individual stores, there’s one general rule that applies across several of them. Once you’ve finished the important early Soul Stone purchases, Orange item fragments become one of the safest long-term uses of your currency. After all, building equipment takes enormous amounts of Energy over time, so buying the right fragments saves you both Energy and progression time.
That principle is the backbone of this Complete Beginner Store Guide. Still, every store works a little differently, so let’s start with the simplest one.
City Store and VIP Store
City Store
The City Store is unusual because, unlike most stores in this guide, it refreshes three times per day. Everything here costs Gold, and for a beginner, most of the inexpensive items are worth picking up whenever you visit.
This helps in two ways. First, you gradually collect equipment without spending Energy to farm every single fragment through the Campaign. Second, you accumulate EXP Potions that keep your first Heroes leveled.
There are, however, two purchases we would treat differently at the beginning:
- Energy Bottle: it’s expensive, especially since you can collect a total of 180 free Energy by logging in during the three daily Energy windows.
- Dorian’s Soul Stones: he’s a very useful Hero, but his Soul Stones put considerable pressure on your Gold during your first year.
Early in the game, Gold matters everywhere. You need it for Hero skills, equipment, Elemental Gifts and many other areas of progression. The Tower will become one of your most important Gold sources, so spending huge amounts every day on Dorian can slow down the rest of your account.
Later, this changes completely. Eventually Gold becomes much easier to manage, and Dorian’s Soul Stones become far less painful to buy. By that stage, however, many long-term players may already have progressed him significantly.
VIP Store
The VIP Store is one of the easiest for a beginner to overvalue, simply because the items look attractive. Early on, though, we generally wouldn’t prioritize purchases here.
If you’re specifically building Andvari or Sebastian from the start, their Soul Stones can be relevant to your plan. Otherwise, there’s very little reason for a beginner to burn valuable Emeralds here. Later in your account, once Gold no longer constantly limits your development, the Skin Stones become a purchase worth considering regularly.
Arena Store and Tower Store
Arena Store
You earn most of this currency by fighting in the Arena, so how much you can buy depends heavily on your Arena performance. For a new account, we would initially focus on Soul Stones for Heroes you’re actually developing. Folio and Judge are two important early options, followed later by Astrid and Mushy depending on your plans.
The logic is simple. You improve their Rank by spending Energy to farm equipment, while Arena Coins improve their Evolution at the same time. In other words, you develop two different parts of the Hero without forcing one resource to do both jobs.
Once those key Heroes reach the Evolution level you need, the long-term priority changes. At that point, Orange item fragments become an excellent use of Arena Coins.
Tower Store
You earn Tower currency by progressing through the Tower, although the amount you receive can vary. For beginners, the Tower itself is extremely important because it’s one of your main sources of Gold. As a result, there will be moments early on when buying Gold here is genuinely useful, simply because you keep running out of it.
There are also two Heroes worth watching from the beginning: Dante and Fafnir. Their Soul Stones are worth considering early, particularly if either Hero fits the teams you’re building. Once they reach around five stars, however, we would shift the focus away from Evolution and toward the Orange item fragments in the bottom-left position of the store.
Outland Store: Treat These Coins Carefully
The Outland Store is where our philosophy changes completely. Since the Outland Bosses were discontinued, there’s no longer the same free way to generate these valuable coins. Because of that, we treat Outland Coins very carefully.
For us, the priority here is extremely simple: Skin Stone Chests. Skin Stones stay relevant throughout the entire life of your account, they’re difficult to accumulate in the quantities you’ll eventually need, and Hero Skins require enormous investment. So whether you’re early, mid or late game, this is the resource we’d focus on in the Outland Store.
If you’re using Emeralds to open Outland Chests, do it during a 55% discount, and preferably while an event quest also rewards those openings. That gives you far better overall value than randomly opening large quantities without another objective.
Especially for beginners, a large Emerald balance doesn’t mean you need to spend it. Patience is a resource too.
Guild Stores: Dungeon, Guild War, Global Championship and Hydra
Dungeon Store
To earn Dungeon Coins, you need to be in a Guild and battle Titans in the Dungeon. By contributing 150 Titanite per day, you can obtain up to 1,500 Dungeon Coins daily.
If your starting Hero team specifically needs Corvus, Isaac, Alvanor or Satori, their Soul Stones can affect your priorities. Otherwise, we would concentrate primarily on Titan Skin Stones and Fairy Dust.
Here’s an important beginner trap. At the start, you may look at your Titan resources and think you have plenty. You don’t. As Titan development grows, these resources become increasingly valuable, so stockpiling them early saves a lot of frustration later when Dungeon progression gets more demanding.
Guild War Store
Naturally, you need to belong to a Guild that participates in Guild Wars to earn this currency. The stronger your Guild and the higher its league, the better the rewards become. For Hero development, Julius and Nebula Soul Stones are particularly valuable options. If neither Hero is part of your plans, Titan Skin Stones are the straightforward alternative.
Global Championship Store
Global Championship Coins are among the most important currencies to protect properly. You earn them by taking part in Global Championship with your Guild, and stronger Guild performance produces better rewards.
For us, one item stands clearly above the rest: the Evolution Book. It’s particularly valuable when taking a Hero from five stars to Absolute Star, where the normal Soul Stone requirement becomes extremely expensive and time-consuming. Moreover, it saves resources you’d otherwise need from other stores, which makes it especially valuable for Heroes whose Soul Stones are hard to acquire, including those tied to the Heroic Chest.
So don’t casually burn Global Championship currency just because something else looks useful today. Think long-term.
Hydra Shop
The Hydra Shop’s currency comes from opening the Altar of the Elements, which also requires Guild access. That said, we wouldn’t recommend opening the Altar every day without thinking about timing. When possible, connect those openings to event quests so the same action contributes toward multiple rewards.
If you’re developing Yasmine or Cornelius, their Soul Stones are worth considering. Otherwise, prioritize the Chests and Artifact Coins, and avoid spending this currency on Sparks, Gold or Chaotic Cores.
Grand Arena and Eternal Frontier Stores
Grand Arena Store
Your coins here come from your position in Grand Arena and your battles there. The higher your position, the better your hourly income, which means two players can have completely different purchasing power in this store.
Early on, Iris, Octavia and Lian are important Soul Stone options. If you’re developing any of them, working toward at least five stars is a reasonable first objective. Absolute Star can take considerably longer, so don’t feel that every Hero must be finished before you buy anything else.
After that, there’s an interesting decision between Orange item fragments and Runic Stones. If you already get enough Orange fragments through other stores, and your Guild activity isn’t consistently giving you the equipment resources you need, Runic Stones become attractive here. On the other hand, if you’re in a very active Guild that regularly reaches the 700 or 1,500 daily Activity milestones, your resource situation can look very different.
That’s why there isn’t one universal purchase that suits every account. Look at what your account is actually missing.
Eternal Frontier Store
This is one of the more complicated stores, because there are many genuinely useful things inside it. You generate the currency by progressing through Eternal Frontier, and better progression increases your idle income.
For beginners, Hero Soul Stones are once again extremely relevant. Soleil, Amira and Cascade are three Heroes we’d pay attention to, since they stay useful across different stages of progression and different situations.
Red item fragments become more relevant from the mid game onward, once your first Heroes actually begin reaching Red Rank. Before that point, don’t rush into buying resources just because they’re technically more advanced. Remember that you’ll also receive some fragments through normal progression, including Tower completion. In addition, several pieces of equipment can be built through Campaign farming while producing useful Orange components at the same time:
- Arcane Destabilizer
- Spell of Fury
- Amulet of Hatred
- Shield Breaker
- Brooch of the Last Resistance
- Primordial Life
If you’re not buying the Hero Soul Stones you need, Orange item fragments are another strong option here. Also, if you’re actively playing Harbor, Metacubes and Mastery Crystals shouldn’t need to become a purchasing priority in this store.
Later in your account, one of the most expensive but potentially interesting targets appears: Talismans. Several first-wave Talismans cost 700,000 coins, with exceptions including Lara Croft, the Ninja Turtles and the two most recent Heroes. That’s obviously an enormous amount of currency, so it isn’t something a beginner should start saving for without a plan. Still, if you’re patient, you’ve reached the right stage of progression, and one of your core Heroes uses a Talisman available there, it can eventually become an important long-term purchase.
Unlockable Stores: Soul Stone Store and Titan Soul Stone Shop
Soul Stone Store
This store doesn’t even exist for a brand-new account. You unlock it only after getting your first Hero to Absolute Star. From then on, any surplus Soul Stones that Absolute Star Hero receives are converted into Soul Coins.
Ginger is a useful example. Her Chapter 1-5 Campaign mission guarantees a Soul Stone, so once she reaches Absolute Star, that mission can provide at least 100 Soul Coins per day when you complete or raid it.
Once the store is available, Orange item fragments are among the strongest purchases. In addition, Invocation Spheres can be valuable because of event quests, and Artifact Chest Keys provide another useful progression resource.
Titan Soul Stone Shop
Like the Hero Soul Stone Store, this shop isn’t available immediately. You need to reach Absolute Star with a Titan, and you need Guild access. After that, the surplus Soul Stones your Absolute Star Titan keeps receiving become the shop’s currency, and Dungeon progression turns into an important source of them over time.
Here, Titan Potions are one of the most useful purchases, because Titan leveling demands enormous quantities as you progress. Golden Summoning Horns can also be strategically useful when event quests specifically reward using them.
Hero’s Way Shop and Theater Store
Hero’s Way Shop
You earn this currency through Hero’s Way rewards. Peppy’s Soul Stones are already available through Campaign progression, while Xe’Sha’s Soul Stones can be obtained through Realm Rally rewards. That makes Tristan’s Soul Stones the more interesting Hero purchase here. Later on, Skin Stone Chests become another strong use of this currency.
Theater Store
This is probably the easiest store in the whole guide. If you’re willing to watch the ads, Energy is the purchase we value most, and you can watch up to eight ads per day. Simple.
Complete Beginner Store Guide: Quick Priority Table
Here’s everything above condensed into one reference, so you can check a store at a glance before you spend.

| Tower | Gold when short; Dante, Fafnir | Orange fragments (bottom-left) after ~5 stars | Pushing Evolution past ~5 stars |
| Outland | Skin Stone Chests | Skin Stone Chests | Emerald openings outside a 55% discount |

Treat the table as a starting point rather than a rulebook. Ultimately, your account’s actual gaps should always have the final say.
The Real Lesson: Judge Items by How Hard They Are to Replace
That brings us to the most important lesson from this whole guide. Don’t judge an item only by whether you need it today; instead, judge it by how difficult that resource is to obtain elsewhere.
A beginner sees Gold and thinks, “I need Gold,” whereas a developed player knows Gold eventually becomes much easier to manage. Similarly, hundreds or thousands of Fairy Dust might look like plenty to a new player, but experienced Guardians know how quickly Titan development consumes it. Skin Stones follow the same pattern: their value isn’t obvious at first, yet once you’re developing multiple Skins that need enormous amounts of them, it clicks.
The same principle applies to Soul Stones. If a store gives you reliable access to an important Hero you’re actually developing, use that opportunity while Evolution matters. But once you’ve reached a sensible Evolution target, don’t keep buying Soul Stones automatically while ignoring resources that could advance the rest of your account.
How Your Priorities Should Evolve
- Early game: establish your first Heroes and Titans while protecting scarce resources.
- Mid game: Orange equipment fragments become increasingly valuable because they reduce the enormous Energy burden of ranking Heroes.
- Later on: Skin Stones, Runic Stones, Titan resources, Talismans and difficult Evolution upgrades take center stage.
There isn’t one magical purchase that’s best in every store forever. Ultimately, the goal is to understand what each currency can buy, how easily it can be replaced, and whether a purchase genuinely advances your account or is simply sitting in front of you.
If you’re a beginner, don’t try to build everything at once. Instead, build your first team, build the Titans you actually need, and protect your hard-to-replace currencies. Use the stores to complement your progression rather than drain it. Do that consistently, and six months from now the difference in your account can be enormous.
