New Realm Base Update | Hero Wars Alliance

New Realm Base Update

The New Realm Base Update is here for Hero Wars: Alliance, and it reshapes how we build, defend, and manage our Realm. Set for October 27 and available to all players, it adds new buildings, improved navigation, and a much bigger troop cap. More importantly, it lays the groundwork for something far bigger: future battles between Guilds.

So far, Realm development has mostly been about growing stronger, gathering resources, and preparing our armies. However, the developers have now confirmed that rival Guilds will eventually be able to attack our Realms and capture resources. As a result, defense is about to matter just as much as offense. Below, we break down every new building, what it does, and how to prepare before Guild conflicts arrive.

What the New Realm Base Update Adds

Here is a quick overview of the four new building types before we dig into each one.

Building What It Does Why It Matters
Wall Stations a garrison of Heroes and troops to defend your Realm Future updates add attacks on other players’ Realms
Additional Infirmaries Unlocked via Research Center Technologies; more wounded-troop capacity Bigger, longer battles mean bigger losses
Drill Grounds Track troops in attacks vs. in reserve; extra Drill Grounds raise troop limits Up to 30,000 more troops
Storages Protect your resources Rival Guilds will be able to capture resources

The Wall: Your Realm’s First Line of Defense

The Wall becomes the main defensive structure in the Realm. With it, we can station a garrison of Heroes and troops to protect everything we have built against enemy attacks.

This matters because the developers have already confirmed that future updates will introduce attacks against other players’ Realms. In other words, we are no longer just building an army to attack. Instead, we also need to decide which Heroes and troops stay behind to hold the line.

Additional Infirmaries for Larger Battles

The Infirmary system now expands through special Technologies in the Research Center. Once researched, these let us build additional Infirmaries and increase how many wounded troops we can accommodate.

Think about what that means during prolonged conflicts. When battles start involving more players and more attacks, troop losses will likely climb fast. Therefore, a larger capacity for wounded troops could become extremely valuable. Of course, we still need to see exactly how future combat works, but expanding our medical infrastructure now is a sensible move.

Drill Grounds: More Troops and Better Army Management

The Drill Grounds are one of the most interesting additions in the New Realm Base Update. These buildings show how many troops are currently attacking bosses, Forts, and enemy bases, and how many remain available in reserve.

Even better, additional Drill Grounds raise our troop limits. According to the announcement, they can add another 30,000 troops on top of current limits, which is a substantial expansion for future Realm battles.

Drill Ground Unlock Requirements

Drill Ground Requirement
Second Hall of Heroes level 16
Third Hall of Heroes level 22 + completing the required special Research

Better still, Drill Grounds unlock automatically based on your existing Hall of Heroes progression. The higher its level, the more Drill Grounds you can access, and their levels reflect that progress as well. So, take a moment to check where your Hall of Heroes stands right now.

Storages: Protecting Resources From Rival Guilds

This is where the announcement gets particularly interesting. The developers have confirmed that future updates will let rival Guilds attack your Realm and capture resources. Yes, your resources could eventually become a target.

That is exactly why Storages are being introduced. They protect your resources and give you time to prepare your defenses before those attacks go live.

However, keep one thing in mind. The October 27 update introduces the buildings and the groundwork, but it does not mean every future Guild battle mechanic arrives on the same day. For now, the priority is understanding the new systems and preparing for what comes next.

What This Means for Future Guild Battles

Taken together, these changes show the Realm moving toward a much deeper strategic system. We now have the foundations for defensive garrisons, resource protection, expanded troop capacity, wounded troop management, and conflicts between Guilds.

Naturally, that raises some big questions. How important will defensive Hero formations become? How much of our army should we keep in reserve? Will protecting resources matter as much as gathering them? And most importantly, how will Guild battles change the way we approach Realm development?

We don’t have all the answers yet, and we would rather wait for the actual mechanics than make promises about systems we have not tested. Still, one thing is clear: this update is building toward a much bigger Realm experience.

How to Prepare for the New Realm Base Update

  • Check your Hall of Heroes level. It decides how many Drill Grounds you get (second at level 16, third at level 22).
  • Explore the new buildings as soon as you log in and see what each one unlocks.
  • Prioritize the Research Center, especially the Technologies for additional Infirmaries and the Research needed for the third Drill Ground.
  • Plan your defense early by thinking about which Heroes and troops you would leave on the Wall.

Ultimately, preparation could make all the difference once Guild conflicts arrive. So, which side of this update excites you more: attacking and defending Realms against rival Guilds, or the extra troop capacity and better base management? Let us know on Discord!
