Best Julius Team Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
Welcome to this Best Julius Team Guide, where new Progress players finally learn which team to actually build around the legendary JJI core. Most beginners already know Progress is one of the safest, strongest factions in Hero Wars: Alliance. However, very few know which Progress lineup truly fits their roster. Today we fix that by walking through three battle-tested teams built on Julius, Judge, and Isaac.
The secret behind Progress isn’t a single overpowered hero. Instead, it’s one incredibly flexible foundation that lets you lean into magic, physical, or pure control. Because of that, this faction has sat near the top of the meta for a very long time. So whether you’re just starting out or hunting your next upgrade, Progress is one of the best calls you can make.
⚡ The JJI Core: Your Foundation
At the center of every team in this Best Julius Team Guide sits the famous JJI core: Julius, Judge, and Isaac. Together, these three deliver overlapping shields, energy control, and defensive stability that few foundations in the game can match.
Julius generates massive shields on a cycle. Meanwhile, every shield that breaks heals allies and strips dangerous enemy marks. Judge layers on stuns and extra protection, while Isaac rounds out the energy control and survivability. As a result, your damage dealers get to operate safely behind a near-unbreakable wall — and that freedom is exactly what makes Progress so dangerous.
⚡ Three Teams At A Glance
Before we break each one down, here’s the quick map. Pick whichever direction matches your roster and your playstyle.
⚡ Team 1: Magical Control Powerhouse
Julius · Judge · Byrna · Polaris · Folio
This is probably one of the most feared teams in Hero Wars: Alliance right now. At its heart sits the Julius and Judge combination, which provides enormous shielding and survivability so the rest of the lineup can operate safely.
Next comes Polaris, one of the newest Progress heroes and already among the strongest control units in the game. She brings stuns, disruption, and battlefield control — but most importantly, Magical Critical Hit Chance through her weapon artifact. Consequently, she creates incredible synergy with Folio.
Although Folio belongs to the Mystery faction, the bond between Folio and Polaris is so strong that many players now treat them as inseparable. Polaris enables Folio to perform at a much higher level, while Folio converts that support into devastating battlefield pressure.
Then there’s Byrna, the hero who truly pushes this team to another level. Her bonus energy mechanics accelerate the whole team, but especially Julius. Therefore, every extra Julius ultimate means another shield — and every shield that breaks heals allies while removing dangerous enemy marks:
- Fox Marks from Satori
- Soul Marks from Iris
- Hunter Marks from Astrid
This interaction alone makes the team incredibly frustrating to fight. Against Satori especially, the matchup becomes brutal — without Fox Marks, she struggles to generate meaningful damage. On top of that, Byrna adds healing, bonus energy, and Magic Penetration through her weapon artifact, which further strengthens both Polaris and Folio. The result? Survivability, healing, control, and magical pressure that scales beautifully through long fights.

⚡ Team 2: The Crit Assassin Lineup
Julius · Judge · Isaac · Sebastian · Yasmine
Now we shift from magical damage to pure physical destruction. Once again JJI forms the defensive foundation — massive shielding, energy control, and protection. However, this time we bolt on one of the most explosive offensive combos in the game: Sebastian and Yasmine.
Sebastian contributes extra shielding, Critical Hit support, and his famous pure damage mechanic. Specifically, every time an ally lands a crit, Sebastian piles on even more punishment. Meanwhile, few heroes exploit that better than Yasmine.
When Yasmine fires her ultimate, she unleashes a chain of critical hits in rapid succession. Because every strike benefits from Sebastian’s support, the result is an avalanche of damage that can delete targets almost instantly. Together, they form one of the deadliest offensive duos available.
So where does this team shine? Against mages — especially low-health, low-armor backline heroes. Yasmine doesn’t simply damage these targets; instead, she hunts them one by one until nobody remains standing. Naturally, that makes the lineup excellent into many Chaos and Mystery teams.
Once Yasmine gets rolling, the battle snowballs fast. JJI keeps her alive, Sebastian amplifies her crits, and Yasmine does the rest — fast, explosive, and extremely effective.
⚡ Team 3: Pure Control vs Dodge
Julius · Judge · Orion · Polaris · Arachne
For our final build, we return to a full Progress lineup designed specifically to punish dodge-based opponents. This team revolves around one idea: control — an overwhelming amount of it. In fact, almost every hero here contributes a stun, disruption, or some form of crowd control.
- Arachne stuns.
- Polaris stuns.
- Judge stuns.
- Even Orion applies pressure while Polaris enables him through Magical Critical Hit Chance.
That relentless layering is exactly what breaks dodge heroes. Sure, they can avoid damage — but they can’t dodge forever if they never get a turn to act. While the control keeps opponents locked down, Orion continuously applies magical pressure, and his weapon artifact supplies near-permanent Magic Penetration for the whole team. Then Polaris amplifies that magical damage even further.
Behind all of it, Julius and Judge maintain the protective shell so everyone else functions safely. Granted, this isn’t the most common Progress team you’ll run into. Even so, it’s one of the most satisfying — watching dodge teams drown under wave after wave of stuns rarely gets old.
⚡ Which Progress Team Should You Build?
Here’s the honest answer: build whichever one matches the heroes you already own. If you have Polaris and Folio, the magical control team is arguably the strongest all-rounder. If Sebastian and Yasmine are leveled, the crit assassin lineup melts squishy backlines and even handles Amira. Finally, if you keep losing to slippery dodge comps, the Orion control machine is your counter.
Whichever path you choose, the lesson stays the same throughout this Best Julius Team Guide: a strong team isn’t just powerful heroes — it’s synergy. And no faction demonstrates that better than Progress, because the JJI core stays constant while the possibilities around it feel almost endless.
