What Are the Byrna Event Generators?
There are five Byrna event generators, each producing a different type of resource on a fixed cycle throughout the event:
- Runes — produces every 3 hours
- Elemental Catalysts — produces every 12 hours
- Skin Stones — produces every 6 hours
- Absolute Artifacts — produces every 3 hours
- Primal Catalysts — produces every 12 hours
Each generator activates on a different day between March 23 and March 27, with all five ending on March 30. Because generators activate at different times, they each have a different number of available cycles — ranging from 56 cycles for Runes down to 6 cycles for Elemental Catalysts. The level you choose directly determines how much of that resource you collect across the entire event. A generator left at Level I will produce a fraction of what a maxed Level V generator delivers — making your upgrade decisions critical.
How Generator Upgrades Work
Upgrading the Byrna event generators requires two currencies: Valor Coins and Sapphire Medallions. The upgrade structure is consistent across all generators — Levels I and II are unlocked with Valor Coins, while Levels III, IV, and V require Sapphire Medallions.
This split matters for planning. Valor Coins are generally easier to accumulate, meaning most players can comfortably afford to push every generator to Level II. The real decisions come at Level III and above, where Sapphire Medallions become the limiting factor. Spreading medallions thinly across all five generators at Level III will yield less total value than concentrating them into two or three generators pushed all the way to Level V.
How to Use This Tool
The Byrna Generator Planner is straightforward to use. Each of the five generators has its own card showing the cycle time, activation date, and total number of cycles available. Use the level selector buttons — OFF, I, II, III, IV, V — to set the level you plan to upgrade each generator to.
As you set each level, the card immediately shows you:
- Per cycle production at that level
- Total production over the generator’s active period
- Cumulative upgrade cost in Valor Coins and Sapphire Medallions to reach that level
- Next level cost so you can decide whether the extra investment is worth it
The summary dashboard at the top tracks your total Valor Coin and Medallion spend across all generators at a glance, along with total cycles and how many generators you have maxed.
The Investment Summary at the bottom gives you a full per-generator breakdown alongside the grand total — making it easy to see whether your current plan is within your resource budget or whether you need to scale back somewhere.
Saving and Sharing Your Setup
Once you have a plan you are happy with, hit Save Progress to store your generator levels in your browser for next time. You can also use Share Setup to generate a URL that encodes your current configuration — useful for sharing strategies with guildmates or comparing plans before the event starts.

Each Byrna event generator goes live on a specific day, so the earlier generators give you more time to collect but also require faster upgrade decisions.
