Complete Guild War Guide

Welcome to the complete Guild War guide for Hero Wars, where a single decision can swing an entire battlefield. Guild War unlocks the moment you reach Team Level 30 and join a guild, and once it clicks, it quickly becomes one of the best parts of the game. Zeus has spent seven years in Olympus fighting these wars, and the truth is simple: the strongest guilds aren’t winning on raw power alone—they’re exploiting the strategy layer everyone else overlooks. Below, you’ll learn exactly what Guild War is, when you can jump in, how to become a Champion, and why beginners should care.

What Is Guild War in Hero Wars?

Guild War is not a solo mode. Instead, your entire guild goes head-to-head against another guild on the same war map, with both sides fighting over the same fortifications using hero and titan teams. Think of the map as a battlefield: every fortification your guild captures unlocks the next section, pushing you closer to the enemy’s Citadel. By the end of the war, whichever guild has earned the most points claims victory.

Honestly, this is the single most important game mode in Hero Wars, and it’s where the real strategy begins. Players experiment with creative lineups here, build counter teams, and adapt to constantly changing opponents. In fact, many of the strongest meta compositions you see today were first discovered inside Guild War. If you want to understand how heroes and titans truly work together, nothing teaches you faster than watching—and playing—these daily battles.

When Does Guild War Happen?

Timing is where this complete Guild War guide starts your prep. Guild War runs every day from Monday through Friday, with promotion and relegation matches taking place on Saturday. Sunday is the only day off—no battles and nothing to defend, just a chance for your guild to reset before the next week begins. Once you’re part of it, this rhythm quickly becomes the beat your guild builds its entire week around.

The actual fighting takes place from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM UTC. One hour before the war begins, all defense positions lock in, so whatever you’ve placed at that point is exactly what your guild defends that day—there’s no last-minute swapping after the lock.

Day What Happens
Monday–Friday Guild War battles, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM UTC
Saturday Promotion & relegation matches
Sunday Rest day — no battles, nothing to defend

How to Become a Champion

Before the fun begins, this complete Guild War guide has to cover eligibility. You can’t simply jump into battle. First, you need to become a Champion, which is the title given to guild members allowed to participate in Guild War. To qualify, you’ll need at least 3 titans and a ready defense team, and then you ask your Guild Master or one of the Generals to promote you.

Your guild also has its own requirements. It needs at least 5 Champions and 10 defended positions before it’s eligible to fight that week. So if your guild seems quiet about Guild War, chances are they’re still working toward meeting those numbers.

Depending on your league, a guild can field up to 15 Champions—or 20 Champions if it’s competing in the Gold League. Every Champion receives 2 attack attempts during each Guild War.

  • Reach Team Level 30 and join a guild
  • Own at least 3 titans
  • Set up a solid defense team
  • Ask a Guild Master or General to promote you to Champion

Exploring the Guild War Page

No complete Guild War guide would skip the Guild War page itself, so it’s worth taking a quick look around before you fight. A few sections here will become part of your daily routine.

Leagues

The Leagues section shows where your guild stands in the server rankings. There are four tiers: Qualification League at the bottom, where every new guild begins, followed by Bronze, Silver, and finally Gold, which is reserved for only the top six guilds on the entire server. Every Saturday, the highest- and lowest-ranked guilds compete in promotion and relegation matches to climb higher or avoid dropping down.

League Who’s Here Champion Cap
Qualification Every new guild starts here Up to 15
Bronze Guilds climbing out of Qualification Up to 15
Silver Higher-ranked, competitive guilds Up to 15
Gold Only the top 6 guilds on the server Up to 20

Log

The Log is your Guild War history, where you can review previous battles. Open any match, press More, and you’ll see the points earned, the teams that fought, and even the full replay. As a result, it becomes an excellent way to study successful attacks, review failed defenses, and learn from past wars.

Merchant

The Merchant is simply a shortcut to the Guild War Shop, where you spend the trophies you earn. If you’re holding Gold Trophies but need Bronze ones, you can exchange them downward—Gold into Silver, or Silver into Bronze—though it only works in that one direction. Here’s a quick tip: don’t rush to spend everything you collect. In most cases, it’s far smarter to save your trophies and invest them into upgrading your Totem later.

How Battles Work in Guild War

During battle, you can fight manually for complete control or switch to auto if you prefer a hands-off approach. You’re also able to pause the fight for up to two minutes, which gives you time to think through your next move or plan the rest of the battle.

Here’s a small but valuable tip: if you spot an enemy fortification with an empty defense slot, simply press Earn Points and claim those points instantly—without spending one of your attack attempts. That’s basically free progress, so always keep an eye out for those open positions.

Why This Complete Guild War Guide Matters for Beginners

Two words explain it best: trophies and progress. Every day your guild fights, you’ll earn personal rewards based on the war’s outcome and your Champion status. Then, at the end of the week, your entire guild receives additional rewards tied to its final league ranking. As you climb from Qualification through Bronze and Silver into Gold, those rewards only get better.

Yet the rewards aren’t even the best part. Guild War is where a list of usernames slowly turns into people you genuinely care about. You start recognizing teammates—not just by name, but by how they play, how they joke in guild chat, who logs in early, and who carries the guild through a rough week. Over time, you notice when someone disappears for a few days, and you celebrate when a teammate holds a defense nobody expected to survive. When you lose wars together, nobody points fingers; instead, everyone starts planning the comeback.

Zeus has been in Olympus for seven years now—seven years of daily wars, great weeks, rough weeks, victories, and defeats. Countless players have come and gone, but the ones who stayed feel like brothers and sisters. That’s the kind of bond Guild War can create if you stick with it.

Putting This Complete Guild War Guide Into Action

So if you’ve just joined a guild and Guild War feels a little intimidating, don’t sit on the sidelines. Ask your Guild Master how to become a Champion, get your first three titans ready, and step onto the battlefield for your very first war. Remember, every player who ever found that sense of belonging started exactly where you’re standing today.

Guild War is more than another game mode—it’s where strategy, teamwork, and experience come together. With everything covered in this complete Guild War guide, you now know how it works, how to become a Champion, and what to expect when you step onto the battlefield. Master these fundamentals, keep adapting, and remember: the strongest warriors aren’t defined by their power, but by the decisions they make in battle.
