Defiant Edge Resource Guide | Hero Wars Alliance

Defiant Edge Resource Guide

This Defiant Edge Resource Guide breaks down every task in the first event of Hero Wars Alliance’s new Balance of Power series, so you know exactly where to spend and where to hold back. Balance of Power is built from three connected events: Defiant Edge, Unbroken Bond, and Gear of Glory. Together, they feed into an event shop with some genuinely interesting options this time around.

The shop includes a Super Skin for Mushy and Shroom, Relic Shards for Dorian and Phobos, and even Jhu’s Super Skin for anyone who still hasn’t unlocked it. Before you start dreaming about those rewards, though, there’s one detail you can’t afford to miss.

Balance of Power Lasts Only Six Days

Unlike several recent events that ran for seven days, Balance of Power gives us just six. So don’t leave everything until the final day, or you may suddenly discover you’ve run out of time.

The good news is that the tasks appear to have been adjusted to compensate for the shorter window. As a result, players should still have the chance to collect a comparable amount of resources overall.

As always, we’re approaching this from a Free to Play perspective. That doesn’t mean everyone should follow exactly the same targets. If you’re a spender, have extra resources saved, or simply want to push harder, you can earn considerably more. Our goal, however, is a reasonable path that doesn’t empty your inventory, because an event reward is only valuable if the resources you sacrifice for it actually make sense.

The 210-Task Target and Mushy’s Milestones

Defiant Edge contains seven task categories: logging in, earning VIP points, spending Energy, spending Hero Skin Stones, opening Elemental Spheres at the Altar of Elements, Arena battles, and leading raids in the Realm.

Every completed task also counts toward the milestone rewards in the Gear of Glory tab. We’ll cover those rewards properly in our Gear of Glory review, but for now, our suggested target is 210 completed tasks. It’s a reasonable milestone with worthwhile rewards along the way, and reaching it also awards Krista’s Demonic Skin.

If you’re building Mushy and Shroom, two higher milestones are worth remembering:

  • 225 tasks: Mushy’s Tribal Skin
  • 255 tasks: Mushy’s gloves (equipment)

Those milestones can be attractive, particularly if you’re investing heavily in Mushy. Still, they require more commitment, so we’re not recommending you chase them blindly. That decision makes far more sense once the full event structure and the shop are on the table.

Defiant Edge Tasks: Where to Spend Your Resources

Logging In

This is the easiest task of all. Simply enter the game every day during the event and collect your rewards. There’s no strategy involved, no resources required, and absolutely no reason to miss out. Just remember that we have six days, not seven.

VIP Points

For our Free to Play calculations, we’re assuming zero VIP points. If you were planning to make purchases anyway, this category can add extra progress. Even so, we wouldn’t recommend spending real money purely to complete a task unless the overall value makes sense for you.

Spending Energy

This category rewards daily Energy spending, with milestones reaching up to 4,000 Energy per day. That’s a substantial amount! Players who have been saving Energy, or who are comfortable buying more, may well reach those top tiers.

For our Free to Play approach, however, we’re targeting roughly 2,000 Energy per day. It’s a more realistic objective, especially if you’re managing resources across several events. Keep in mind that spending Energy isn’t automatically the same as making efficient progress. Use it on campaign missions that actually help your account, whether that means farming equipment, collecting useful fragments, or developing heroes.

Hero Skin Stones

Here’s another daily spending category, with rewards extending up to 5,000 Skin Stones per day. Skin Stones are valuable, and we all know how quickly they disappear when you’re developing several heroes. Maxing this task every day would cost 30,000 Skin Stones over the six days, which is a significant investment for Free to Play players.

That’s why our recommended daily target is 2,250 Skin Stones. It gives you meaningful event progress without committing to the maximum. Of course, if you have a large stockpile and a hero whose skins genuinely need upgrading, pushing further could make sense. Otherwise, avoid random upgrades just because an event asks for them, since your account development should always come first.

Defiant Edge Resource Guide for Hero Wars Alliance featuring Mushy and Shroom

Altar of Elements

Here’s a change worth paying attention to! This task requires opening Elemental Spheres, not the Summoning Spheres used in some previous events. The daily maximum is 50 Elemental Spheres, and this is one category where we’re aiming for the full daily requirement.

Hopefully, many of you have been saving them. If you have enough available, it’s a straightforward chance to collect extra rewards. Just double-check you’re opening the correct type, because you don’t want to discover halfway through that you’ve been using the wrong spheres!

Arena Battles

This is where things get a little more interesting. The task rewards up to 15 Arena attacks per day, and reaching the higher milestones may mean spending Emeralds on extra attempts.

Arena is different from most event tasks, though, because climbing the leagues also pays daily Emerald rewards. Based on the reward structure used in our calculations, Champions 2 can provide 1,000 Emeralds per day, while Champions 1 provides 300 Emeralds daily. In other words, the Emeralds you invest in extra attacks can be recovered over time if your ranking improves, especially early in a new season while everyone is working their way up.

For Free to Play players, we recommend 10 Arena attacks per day as a sensible compromise between event progress and resource management. Bear in mind that Arena progress depends on your teams, your opponents, and your ability to climb. Don’t assume you’ll automatically recover every Emerald you spend, and if extra attacks aren’t helping you progress, reconsider whether they’re worth the cost.

Hold a Raid

Finally, this task requires defeating 10 Realm bosses as the raid leader. For active Realm players, it should be a manageable objective, since the World Energy you receive each day should cover the required battles if you manage your activity properly. We recommend completing this category whenever possible.

Don’t forget that raid leader requirement, though. Simply joining someone else’s raid isn’t necessarily going to count, so make sure you’re leading the raids yourself and receiving the correct event progress.

Our Free to Play Defiant Edge Plan at a Glance

Defiant Edge is a fairly interesting event overall. There are rewards to earn through regular gameplay, but some categories become expensive quickly if you chase every milestone. To sum up this Defiant Edge Resource Guide, here’s how our balanced plan compares with the maximum over the full six days:

Task Daily Max F2P Daily Target F2P 6-Day Total
Log In Daily Every day 6 logins
VIP Points Spending-based 0 0
Energy 4,000 2,000 12,000
Hero Skin Stones 5,000 2,250 13,500
Elemental Spheres 50 50 300
Arena Attacks 15 10 60
Hold a Raid (as leader) 10 bosses Complete Complete

Combined with our overall Balance of Power strategy, this plan aims for the 210-task milestone. According to the calculations for this approach, the projected rewards are:

  • 121,800 Balance Sigils
  • 20,700 Adventure Coins
  • 660 Season Pass Trophies

That’s not a bad haul! Remember, though, that these are planning targets rather than a guarantee. Your available resources, Arena performance, and activity throughout the event will all shape your final result.

What Comes Next in Balance of Power

If you’re thinking about pushing past 210 tasks for Mushy’s Tribal Skin at 225, or her gloves at 255, don’t rush the decision. Those rewards may be valuable, but the extra investment only makes sense once you’ve seen how Unbroken Bond fits in and what the Gear of Glory shop actually offers.

After all, not every Guardian has the same priorities. Some are building Mushy and Shroom, others are eyeing Dorian or Phobos Relics, and some simply want to maximise resources for future events. There isn’t one perfect answer, so the important thing is understanding your options before you commit. With this Defiant Edge Resource Guide in hand, you’ve got a solid framework to start from, and sometimes the smartest strategy is knowing when to stop spending.
