Arena Secrets: Stop Losing, Climb Easy & Earn 20,000 Emeralds Every Season
If you’ve been struggling to climb and keep your position in the Hero Wars Alliance competitive rankings, then this complete guide to Hero Wars Arena counters is exactly what you need. Today, we’re stepping back into one of the most rewarding ā and at the same time, one of the most frustrating ā parts of the game: the Arena.
Because let’s be honest ā what everyone really loves about Arena is not the fights. It’s the rewards. That moment when the day resets and you collect your emeralds after a successful climb. That’s what we’re all chasing.

Furthermore, if you approach Arena correctly ā if you understand how to climb at the right moments, and more importantly, how to win the fights that matter ā you can secure thousands of emeralds every single season. Not just once, but consistently. For two, sometimes even three weeks in a row. That adds up fast. Especially when those big events come around, when every emerald suddenly becomes valuable.
Why Climbing Arena Is Harder Today
Climbing Arena today is not what it used to be. With relics, talismans, and power spikes that are not always visible, you can no longer rely on guessing. Moreover, you can’t always test every fight.
So what happens? You hesitate. You skip fights. Or worse ā you attack blindly and lose. That’s exactly why mastering the right Hero Wars Arena counters matters so much right now. Instead of guessing, we’re going to give you structure and real counters for the most common Arena defenses you are facing today.
ā ļø Important: Before We Begin
These counters assume you are relatively close in power. If your opponent is significantly stronger or has key relics that you don’t, even the best counter can fail. Therefore, pick your fights smart ā use these as tools, not guarantees.
Your Complete Hero Wars Arena Counters Reference
Below is the full reference infographic ā save it and use it during your climbs. It covers all five major defense setups you’ll encounter, along with the specific Hero Wars Arena counters that work against each one.

Hero Wars Arena Counters: All 5 Defense Setups Explained
Hero Wars Arena Counters #1 ā Julius, Kayla, Aidan, Guus + Control Hero
The first defense you’re going to see everywhere: Julius, Kayla, Aidan, Guus, and a control hero ā usually Tempus, Somna, or Lian. There’s a reason this line is still everywhere: it has sustain, damage, and control. Fortunately, the Hero Wars Arena counters for this setup are straightforward once you know the core.
What you need here is a core built around Mushy, Byrna, and Somna. That’s your foundation. From there, you adapt ā Tempus works very well, Xe’Sha can bring extra pressure, and Aidan can stabilize. What matters most here is control. You don’t try to outdamage this team. Instead, you control it, disrupt it, and break it slowly.
Counter #2 ā Julius, Kayla, Aidan, Polaris & Fólio
Now we move to a variation of that same core ā but more dangerous. Julius, Kayla, Aidan, and now Polaris and Fólio. This is where things get tricky, because now you’re dealing with mixed damage ā physical AND magic. Both Kayla and Fólio are already extremely strong on their own. Together, they create constant pressure. Applying the right Hero Wars Arena counters here requires knowing which of two paths to take.
This is one of those fights where training helps a lot, because small adjustments make a big difference. In addition, knowing which path to take based on your Iris strength is key to success here.
Hero Wars Arena Counters #3 ā Yasmine, Byrna & Octavia
Now we enter one of the most dangerous Arena cores right now: Yasmine, Byrna, Octavia. This line is explosive ā fast, aggressive, and extremely punishing if you misplay. Moreover, one detail you must always check first is Yasmine’s relic, because that alone can decide the fight. Among all Hero Wars Arena counters, this matchup demands the most respect.
ā ļø This is not a fight you rush. If your Electra is not strong enough ā or if the power gap is too big ā Yasmine will delete you before you even react. Therefore, respect the matchup and train first.
Counter #4 ā Drayne, Byrna, Soleil, Dante & Octavia
Now we move to a newer threat: Drayne. Usually combined with Byrna, Soleil, Dante, and Octavia. This is a dangerous setup, because Drayne’s weakness is magic ā however, Dante and Octavia protect him from exactly that. As a result, he gets to execute your team one by one.
Fortunately, like every defense, there is a weakness. Here we exploit two things: magic damage and energy gain. The Hero Wars Arena counters for Drayne rely on controlling the pace before he can execute.
Electra, Byrna, and Somna control the fight ā they slow everything down and protect your team. Then Satori and Cascade do the work. They break Drayne and remove the threat entirely.
Counter #5 ā Satori & Iris Together (The Confusing One)
Finally, one of the most confusing defenses for many players: Satori and Iris together. Usually paired with Electra, Soleil, and Tempus. This is difficult because the natural counter to Iris is Octavia ā but Octavia struggles against Satori. So what do you do? You balance both threats with a layered approach.
You don’t ignore one threat ā you manage both simultaneously. Start with Octavia and Dante for the dodge engine. Then Aidan reduces the magic impact. Next, Guus stabilizes everything. Finally, Iris ā or Cornelius ā closes it out.

š Arena as a Consistent Emerald Resource
