Hero Wars ToE Guide | Hero Wars Dominion Era
This Hero Wars ToE guide covers everything a new player needs to turn the Tournament of the Elements into free titan rewards every single day. Plenty of players hit team level 60, lose a couple of fights in ToE, and close it for good, convinced it’s a mode built for whales. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact, the Tournament of the Elements is one of the most forgiving modes in Hero Wars Web. You can’t really fail here; you can only collect less than you could have. So once you understand how it works, it becomes a steady stream of free titan resources. Let’s break it down one piece at a time.
What Is the Tournament of the Elements in Hero Wars?
The Tournament of the Elements, which most players simply call ToE, is a titan-only mode. Heroes don’t take part at all. As a result, everything here comes down to two things: your titans and your totem.
The mode is also cross-server, so you’re matched against titan teams from all over the game rather than just your own server. It unlocks at team level 60. To find it, head to Celestial City on the Guild screen and open Titan Valley, where both the tournament and its shop live.
ToE Schedule: When the Tournament Runs
Timing trips up a lot of new players, so here’s the full schedule at a glance.
In other words, ToE is open Monday through Friday and closed on the weekend. On top of that, the daily reset wipes your battle progress every day at 2 AM UTC, which matters a lot once we get to stages and raiding.
How ToE Matchmaking Works
Matchmaking explains a lot of confusing losses. When picking your opponents, the game doesn’t look at your whole titan collection. Instead, it checks the power of your five strongest titans and also counts your totem power.
That’s why you can face an opponent whose titans look weaker than yours but who has a much stronger totem. So if you lose a fight that looked like an easy win, the totem is usually the reason. Rather than bad luck, it’s simply the totem doing its job.
How a ToE Battle Works
This is the most important part of the whole mode. Every opponent gives you a battle with two rounds, so think of it as two separate fights stuck together.
The best news is that attacks are unlimited. If you lose round one, nothing bad happens; you can swap titans, try a different element, and go again as many times as you need. Round two, however, runs automatically. You can watch the replay or skip it, but you can’t redo it, and whatever happens is final.
Set Your Defense Team First
Almost every beginner makes the same mistake here: they pour all their attention into attacking and forget about defense completely.
Before your first attack on a stage, you have to set a defense team. Once you attack, that team is locked until you move on to the next stage or the daily reset hits. Therefore, it really pays to set your defense carefully before you start fighting. Fifty points might not sound like much, but you get that chance against every opponent, every day. Over a full week, those defense points quietly decide where you land on the leaderboard.
ToE Stages, Daily Reset and Raiding
The tournament has eight stages and works like a ladder. Beat every opponent on a stage to unlock the next one, and each new stage brings stronger enemies than the last.
Remember the daily reset? When it hits, your progress drops back to stage one, so every day you climb the ladder again from the bottom. Thankfully, a feature called raiding saves you from fighting everything by hand:
- Once you’ve fully cleared a stage, you can raid it to auto-clear it.
- You can raid stages one at a time, or all your cleared stages at once.
- If a raid gives a weaker result than you wanted, you can replay that fight manually to do better.
- Stage 8 can be raided from the very beginning, without clearing it first.
So in practice, your daily routine isn’t “fight every battle by hand.” Instead, it’s “raid what you’ve already beaten, then push manually where you’re still stuck.” As a result, ToE takes just a few minutes a day once you’re set up.
Elemental Lords and Elder Lords: The ToE Bosses
Stages seven and eight are where the tournament gets exciting, because that’s where the bosses live.
Stage eight is the newest and hardest part of the tournament. The Elder Lords’ teams use totems with Rank 5 Affinity Skills, which makes them the toughest fights in the whole mode.
Let’s be honest, though. As a beginner, you’re not going to beat the Elder Lords this week, and probably not the regular Lords either. That’s completely fine, because these bosses are there to show where your titan account is heading. Think of them as milestones, not walls.
Use Titan Elements to Your Advantage
Each titan belongs to an element: Water, Fire, Earth, Light, Darkness or Distortion. Bringing the right element against the right opponent can turn a loss into a win without adding a single point of power. Since attacks are unlimited, ToE is also the perfect place to experiment, because testing costs you nothing.
ToE Rewards Explained
Now for the part everyone’s been waiting for. To keep this Hero Wars ToE guide simple, we’ve grouped the rewards into four main types.
1. Essence of the Elements
You earn it every time you win a battle, and it’s used to upgrade titan artifacts. For a growing titan account, that’s a big deal, because artifact upgrades are one of the most reliable ways to keep pushing titan power up.
2. Elemental Tournament Coins
These arrive every day when you reach certain point milestones. You spend them in the Elemental Tournament Shop on titan artifact fragments, so the more points you earn each day, the more coins you collect.
3. Weekly Ranking Reward
When the tournament closes on Friday at 8 PM UTC, you’re ranked by your total points for the week. Everyone gets Elemental Tournament Certificates and gold. In addition, if you place high enough, you also get emeralds and a tournament cup.
Here’s a detail a lot of people miss: the weekly reward isn’t sent automatically. After the tournament ends, you have to go to the Hall of Fame and claim it yourself. Otherwise, you’re leaving rewards on the table.
4. Daily Quest
Winning battles in the tournament also completes the daily quest “Win 1/6 battles,” which gives you five Titan Artifact Spheres. That’s free value for fights you’d be doing anyway.
How to Spend Elemental Tournament Certificates
The shop has a Certificate Exchange tab, where certificates can be traded for:
- Hero Soul Stones
- Large Skin Stone Chests
- Artifact Coins
- Chaos Cores
Because certificates mostly come once a week, they’re a slow currency. Therefore, the smartest use is whatever your account is genuinely short on right now, not whatever looks most exciting that day.
A Simple Weekly ToE Routine
Let’s pull it all together into a routine that takes just a few minutes a day:
- Monday: set a solid defense team before attacking anything, then start climbing and test different elements whenever you get stuck.
- Tuesday to Friday: raid your cleared stages, then push forward by hand where you’re stuck, collecting coins, Essence and Titan Artifact Spheres along the way.
- After Friday, 8 PM UTC: head to the Hall of Fame and claim your weekly reward.
That’s it. No stress, and no whale budget required.
Final Thoughts on This Hero Wars ToE Guide
The Tournament of the Elements isn’t about beating the Lords in your first week. Rather, it’s about showing up, clearing what you can, raiding what you’ve already beaten, and collecting rewards every day while your titans slowly grow. Week by week, those small gains add up. Eventually, that Fire Lord who looked impossible goes down on the first try.
