New Realm Building Explained | Hero Wars Alliance
The New Realm Building Explained guide you need is here, because the October 27 update has completely reshaped our Realm base in Hero Wars Alliance. The base is now larger, several new buildings have arrived, and the whole area finally feels like a properly developed military settlement.
However, these additions are far from decorative. Several of them introduce real mechanics tied to troop management, resource protection, and the future of Realm warfare. In this post, we break down every new structure, explain what it does, and share our first impressions of the updated interface.
One thing to keep in mind before we start: plenty of players have already reached Hall of Heroes level 25, which is currently the maximum. Depending on your progression, some buildings and upgrades may already be unlocked when you enter the updated Realm. For everyone else, we’ve included the official requirements wherever they’ve been confirmed.
Important: Troop Count Display Bug
Before diving in, there’s a technical notice from the development team. Some players may see their troop count showing as zero, or find that all of their resources appear protected after the update. According to the Community Manager, this is only a display bug.
If either issue shows up for you, simply restart the game. Meanwhile, a proper correction is already being prepared.
Drill Grounds: More Room for Your Army
We now have three Drill Grounds inside the base, and they play a key role in managing the size of our army. In short, the higher their level, the more troops they can support.
There are some unlock requirements to know about, according to the official update information:
Together, these additional Drill Grounds can raise your troop limit by 30,000. On top of that, the update grants Drill Grounds based on your existing Hall of Heroes progression, so advanced players may find several of them already unlocked and developed.
Each Drill Ground can be upgraded toward level 25, increasing its share of your troop capacity. Our take: keep developing them as your resources allow. There’s no need to abandon your current priorities, but higher troop limits will become more and more valuable as Realm warfare evolves.
Infirmaries: Recovering Wounded Troops
Naturally, larger armies bring another requirement — the ability to recover wounded troops. That’s exactly where the extra Infirmaries come in.
We now have three Infirmary buildings, two more than before. Their job is to increase how many wounded troops your Realm can hold. As you upgrade them, capacity rises, so you can manage more wounded units and get them ready for recovery.
This matters even more with additional Guild-versus-Guild combat mechanics on the way. In large-scale conflicts, troop losses and injuries will be a big part of army management, and enough Infirmary capacity will help you get your forces back into action.
Keep in mind that the additional Infirmaries are also linked to specific Technologies in the Research Center. So if you haven’t unlocked them yet, check your Research progression rather than assuming all three will be available right away. Ideally, develop your Infirmaries alongside your military capacity, since an expanding army needs proper recovery facilities.
Resource Storages: Protecting What You Produce
Next up, we have four new resource storage buildings, each dedicated to protecting a single resource:
Their purpose becomes clear once we look at where Realm warfare is heading. According to the official announcement, future updates will let rival Guilds attack Realm bases and capture resources. These Storages are designed to shield part of your stockpile from that threat, and their protection capacity improves as you level them.
So while they look simple, they’re an important part of preparing your Realm for future attacks. We’d suggest developing them gradually, with extra attention on the resources you build up most often. After all, protecting your resources will matter just as much as producing them.
The Radar: A Small but Handy Shortcut
This is a smaller addition that we really appreciate. At first glance, the Radar looks like decoration, yet it has a genuinely convenient function: select it, and the game instantly shows your Realm’s location on the World Map.
Instead of digging through extra menus to find your base, you jump straight to its position. It’s a minor change, but sometimes these small touches make the whole experience more comfortable.
The Wall: The Most Important New Realm Building
Now we’ve reached what we consider one of the most important additions to the updated base — the Wall. In our opinion, this building deserves special attention during your development.
The Wall is your Realm’s primary defensive structure. Unlike the other buildings covered here, it introduces a dedicated defense system. Opening Wall Defense shows your defensive squad, the troops assigned to the garrison, and the Wall’s current condition. From there, you can set up a defensive formation using your Heroes and available units.
How Wall Durability Works
There’s another key mechanic here: Wall Durability. On our account, the Wall currently sits at 10,000 out of 10,000 Durability, with its status showing Fully Protected.
When your defense is defeated, the Wall catches fire and gradually loses Durability. If it’s completely destroyed, your Realm gets teleported to a random location on the World Map. That’s a serious consequence, because defending your Realm isn’t just about winning or losing one battle — the Wall’s condition directly affects the security and position of your base.
For that reason, we see Wall development as a real priority. Raising its defensive capabilities, keeping it in good condition, and preparing a strong garrison should all be part of your Realm strategy.
Additionally, the Wall Defense interface includes an option to exclude your defensive squad from Raids, which gives you one more thing to consider when organizing your Heroes. Of course, we still need to see how these mechanics play out once the matching Realm combat features go live. Even so, the importance of a reliable defense is already clear: a well-developed Realm needs both offensive capacity and defensive preparation.
New City Shortcuts in the Realm
Beyond the military buildings, the update also brings several interface improvements. Several activities that previously required heading back to the City can now be reached directly from the Realm. Importantly, nothing has been removed from the City — these shortcuts simply give you another way in.
- Adventure Balloon: takes you straight to Adventures. It’s useful, although showing the relevant Hero or Titan above the Balloon would make its destination instantly recognizable.
- Arena: easy to spot, and it cuts down on transitions while you clear your daily activities.
- Event Plaza: opens current event shops and related activities. Still, we had to tap it to figure out what it was, so a clearer visual indicator would help.
- Heroic Chest: works well visually, since the Soul-related symbol makes its purpose fairly obvious.
- Tower: immediately recognizable for anyone familiar with the City.
- Airship: quick access to Expeditions and Hero Artifact development.
Personally, we welcome this change. It doesn’t interfere with our usual gameplay, and once you learn the new building locations, you can reach several activities in fewer steps. Less unnecessary navigation means more time actually playing and developing your account.
Passes Are Now Grouped Together
There’s one final interface improvement worth mentioning. The game’s Passes are now grouped in a single location, including the Season Pass, which also received some presentation changes. If you’re wondering where your Passes went, they haven’t disappeared — you’ll find them together in the updated interface, which makes navigation noticeably more efficient.
New Realm Building Explained: Our Final Verdict
Overall, the October 27 Realm update makes the base feel more complete, more organized, and better prepared for the future of Realm warfare. To recap, Drill Grounds add troop capacity, while Infirmaries expand how many wounded units you can hold. Meanwhile, Storages protect valuable resources, and the Radar speeds up finding your position on the World Map. Above all, the Wall establishes a defensive system that could become extremely important once new combat mechanics arrive.
At the same time, the City shortcuts and reorganized Passes make everyday navigation smoother. A few visual details could still be improved, particularly how some activity shortcuts are identified, but we see this as a positive update.
Our main suggestion is to review your newly available buildings, check their requirements, and set up a balanced upgrade plan. Players at Hall of Heroes level 25 may have immediate access to several additions, whereas others will need to keep progressing through Hall of Heroes levels and Research. Finally, remember that some of the combat mechanics these buildings prepare us for are still planned for future updates. For now, the priority is understanding what has changed — and with this new Realm building explained guide, you’re ready to prepare your Realm accordingly.
