Perfect Team Synergy Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
This Perfect Team Synergy Guide breaks down what might be one of the strongest teams in Hero Wars Alliance right now: Cleaver, Byrna, Dorian, Kendle and Aidan. Every so often, we test a composition that makes us stop, change the counter, test again, and then wonder exactly what we’ve just found. This is one of those teams.
Let’s be clear from the start, though. This team isn’t unbeatable, and counters do exist. However, finding a counter and making it work consistently are two very different things. We’ve seen battles swing because of development, Class Glyphs, Relic levels and even tiny differences in how these Heroes survive key moments of the fight.
It’s also not a cheap team. That said, you don’t necessarily need every Hero with fully maxed Relics before the important synergies start showing up. In some cases, Relic level 10 or 20 can already make a significant difference.
Why This Team Works: Damage as a Resource
So why is this team so hard to deal with? It starts with something that sounds completely backwards. These Heroes damage themselves and each other, and that friendly damage is actually the engine that makes the whole team run.
Cleaver: The Cleanse Engine
Cleaver provides the first major interaction. With Heavyweight upgraded to Legendary, whenever Cleaver or an ally takes damage from their own skill or an allied skill, all negative effects are removed from that Hero. Crucially, this stays active for as long as Cleaver is alive.
That matters enormously, because several Heroes in this lineup deliberately create exactly that type of damage.
Kendle: Turning Sacrifice Into Offense
Kendle does it with Agony Surge. While above 30% Health, every ten seconds she damages herself and hits a ranged enemy with Pure Damage based on that self-inflicted damage. As a result, Kendle’s sacrifice can feed directly into Cleaver’s cleanse at the same time.
But Kendle goes even further. With Reaping Hour, her Pure Damage increases during its three-second window whenever allies take damage from their own or allied skills. In other words, sacrifice isn’t just something this team survives; it actively powers Kendle’s offense.
On top of that, Lava Kiss raises her Magical Critical Hit Chance, while Purge by Pain allows allied Pure Damage to crit. Together, they give this sacrifice structure some serious damage potential.
Dorian: Vampirism, Immunity and Resurrection
Next comes Dorian. Blood Pact periodically damages allies with Vampirism, then increases how much Health they can restore through Vampirism while also boosting Dorian’s healing. Once again, allied damage feeds the same mechanics we’ve just covered.
Dorian also brings enormous sustain. Fountain of Blood lets allies restore more Health while attacking, and Blood Seal can provide 105% additional Vampirism. Better still, after being healed by Vampirism or Fountain of Blood, his allies can become immune to stun and sleep for three seconds, which adds another defensive layer on top of Cleaver’s cleansing.
Even securing a kill doesn’t necessarily finish the job. Call of Blood lets Dorian resurrect a fallen ally by sacrificing himself. That Hero returns with Health based on Dorian’s Maximum Health, and if the conditions are met through Vampirism during Dorian’s Near Death state, Dorian can return as well.
Aidan: Burn It Down, Heal It Back
Then Aidan arrives. Phoenix Ritual sacrifices 20% of Aidan’s Maximum Health while increasing the Maximum and Current Health of his allies and setting them on fire. Meanwhile, Bonds of Fire creates even more allied sacrifice damage, and none of it happens in isolation, since it interacts with both Cleaver’s Heavyweight and Kendle’s Reaping Hour.
Of course, Aidan also gives that Health back. Fire Embrace heals the Hero with the lowest Health, and it also heals any Hero who has lost Health through friendly skills since its previous activation. Put simply, the team deliberately sacrifices Health, gains benefits from doing it, and then has mechanics specifically built to recover it.
When someone drops below 30% Health, Flame Shield creates yet another problem for the opponent. For four seconds, it absorbs Physical and Magical Damage, with durability based on 24% of the total Maximum Health of the entire team.
Byrna: The Hero That Ties It All Together
That’s where Byrna becomes particularly interesting. Nature’s Blessing increases her healing effectiveness, while Bear Cuddle at Legendary removes all negative effects from an ally whenever it restores their Health. Consequently, Cleaver is no longer the only source of cleansing on the team.
Still, Living Heart is probably my favorite Byrna interaction in this composition. When an ally is already fully healed, further healing from allies can increase that Hero’s Maximum Health. Now think about how much healing Dorian, Aidan and Byrna generate between them. All that excess healing can potentially become additional Maximum Health, and remember, Aidan’s Flame Shield scales with the team’s total Maximum Health.
That’s the kind of synergy we’re talking about. It isn’t one Hero doing something strong; instead, what one Hero does creates opportunities for another.
Finally, Byrna still has Gift Spirit, restoring 100 Energy every six seconds to the ally with the highest Energy that isn’t already full. That helps the entire machine cycle its key skills even faster.
Perfect Team Synergy Guide: The Full Cycle at a Glance
When we put everything together, the picture becomes much clearer. Here’s how each Hero feeds the loop:
To sum it up: friendly damage triggers Cleaver’s cleanse, and that same damage boosts Kendle’s Pure Damage. Aidan heals allies specifically after friendly damage, while Dorian adds huge Vampirism plus protection against stun and sleep. Byrna layers on healing, cleansing, Energy and Maximum Health growth, which Aidan then converts into a powerful emergency shield. And if you finally manage to land a kill, Dorian can potentially bring someone back.
Meanwhile, Cleaver isn’t just standing there tanking. Miasma and Putrefaction can heavily reduce enemy healing while the rest of the team keeps sustaining itself.
Countering This Team: Breaking the Cycle
That’s exactly why countering this composition gets complicated. You’re not trying to stop one mechanic; you’re trying to break a cycle. Even so, complicated doesn’t mean impossible, and counters do exist.
What makes this team interesting is how development decides whether those counters work consistently. Class Glyphs matter, and so do Relic development and Health thresholds. Sometimes surviving just a little longer means reaching another heal, another shield, another cleanse or another resurrection.
For that reason, don’t judge this matchup by total Power alone. The interaction between these Heroes matters far more than one number on the screen.
How Much Development Do You Need?
Throughout this Perfect Team Synergy Guide, we’ve shown the strongest versions of these abilities so you can understand the composition’s full potential. However, that doesn’t mean every Relic needs to be maxed before you can use the team. Depending on the Hero, earlier Relic levels can already unlock important parts of the synergy, while further development naturally makes the complete package stronger.
Final Verdict: The Best Team in Hero Wars Alliance?
So, is Cleaver, Byrna, Dorian, Kendle and Aidan the best team in Hero Wars Alliance? We’re not going to call any team unbeatable. Right now, though, this is absolutely one of the most impressive teams we’ve been testing.
Yes, it’s expensive, it has counters, and it requires development. Nevertheless, the synergy between these five Heroes is exceptional, and the battles we’ve had with it have been extremely interesting. If you’re looking for a real-world example of perfect team synergy in HWA, this is it.
Now we want to hear from you. Have you already faced this team, or found a counter that works consistently? And if you’re building it yourself, how far have you developed the Relics and Class Glyphs? Let us know, because this is definitely a team we’ll keep testing.
