Ultimate Realm Forts Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
After our last breakdown of the new Realm Fort rules, plenty of Guardians reacted the exact same way: “Wow, this looks complicated.” This Ultimate Realm Forts Guide exists to flip that reaction completely, because the whole system only looks huge when you read it as pages of rules, conditions, Fort levels, Capture Points, declarations, and Garrison mechanics all at once.
Here’s the good news, though. Once you stop staring at the rulebook and simply watch how a Fort battle actually plays out, everything clicks into place. So let’s forget the written rules for a moment and walk through a single Fort battle from beginning to end, treating this as your quick guide to the gameplay loop.
Everything Starts on the Realm Map
Your Guild Master, or one of your Generals, opens the Realm map and hunts for an available Fort. Not every Fort can be attacked at any moment, though. Some are already occupied, others are protected, and a few may already be under attack by someone else. Therefore, your very first objective is simple: find a Fort that’s genuinely available to hit.
Declaring War and the 30-Minute Prep Phase
Once your guild locks in a target, the Guild Master or a General declares war. And that’s it — nothing happens immediately. Instead, a 30-minute preparation phase begins, and this window matters far more than it first appears.
Those thirty minutes are not wasted time. Rather, they exist so your entire guild can get ready before the fighting starts:
- Gather near the Fort.
- Discuss who will participate.
- Decide who attacks first.
- Organize your squads and make sure everyone is set.
The Siege: Garrison First, Fort Guards Second
When the timer expires, the siege begins and the real action kicks off. Surprisingly, the first thing you’ll face isn’t the Fort Guards — it’s the Garrison.
Think of the Garrison as the first defensive wall. These are player squads placed there by the guild that currently owns the Fort. Before you can even think about the Fort itself, you have to fight through those defenders. Only after the entire Garrison has fallen can you finally reach the Fort Guards.
So the battle naturally splits into two clean stages. First, you defeat the defending guild. Second, you defeat the Fort Guards.
Earning Capture Points Throughout the Siege
While all of that fighting unfolds, something important happens in the background: your guild constantly earns Capture Points. These points decide everything, so don’t assume only the final fight counts. You rack them up in several ways:
- Defeating defending squads.
- Defeating Guard squads.
- Even dealing damage to defending troops.
Every skirmish feeds your final score, which means each battle you take part in genuinely contributes toward capturing the Fort.
When Multiple Guilds Chase the Same Fort
Now things get interesting, because your guild may not be alone. Several guilds can declare war on the same Fort, which means multiple sieges can swirl around a single objective. Each guild runs its own timer and its own battle window, yet everyone competes for the exact same prize: the Fort.
Once the final Guard is defeated, the game compares the Capture Points earned by every participating guild, and the guild with the highest total becomes the new owner. Importantly, it isn’t about arriving first, and it isn’t purely about fielding the strongest heroes. Instead, it rewards contribution across the whole siege.
Defending the Fort You Just Captured
Picture the moment: congratulations, your guild has taken the Fort. The battle is over, but your job isn’t, because now you have to defend it. This is where the Garrison flips sides — instead of attacking one, you build one.
Guild members place their squads inside the Fort to form a defensive line for the next guild that comes knocking. Remember, the Garrison isn’t decoration. Every future attacker must clear those squads before reaching the Fort Guards, so a well-organized defense can dramatically slow enemies down and force them to burn far more time and resources trying to conquer your Fort.
Rewards, and Why Active Participation Matters
Now let’s talk rewards, since that’s the whole reason guilds fight in the first place. Every Fort offers rewards, and the stronger the Fort, the better those rewards become. Different Forts hand out different benefits, which makes some far more valuable than others.
Capturing your first Neutral Fort also grants special rewards to players who actively participated in the siege. Simply sitting inside the guild isn’t enough, though — you genuinely need to help by earning Capture Points during the battle. In short, active participation is exactly what pays out.
Guild Bonuses: Keep the Fort, Keep the Benefit
Finally, once your guild owns a Fort, everyone benefits. Every captured Fort provides a Guild Bonus, and as long as your guild controls that Fort, each member keeps receiving it. That’s precisely why defending is just as important as capturing. Lose the Fort, lose the bonus; hold the Fort, and the entire guild keeps benefiting.
The Ultimate Realm Forts Guide Gameplay Loop
When you lay it all out, the rhythm is refreshingly logical. Here is the entire flow at a glance, and it’s the core takeaway of this Ultimate Realm Forts Guide:
| Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Find a Fort | Scan the Realm map for one that’s available. |
| 2. Declare war | Your Guild Master or General commits to the target. |
| 3. Prep phase | Use the 30 minutes to gather and organize squads. |
| 4. Attack the Garrison | Clear the defending player squads first. |
| 5. Defeat the Guards | Only then can you break the Fort Guards. |
| 6. Earn Capture Points | Every battle and hit adds to your score. |
| 7. Capture the Fort | Highest total Capture Points wins ownership. |
| 8. Build your Garrison | Place squads to defend against future attacks. |
| 9. Collect rewards | Active participants earn siege rewards. |
| 10. Protect the Guild Bonus | Hold the Fort to keep the bonus for everyone. |
Boiled all the way down, the pattern is just four words on repeat: prepare, attack, capture, defend. Seen from that angle, the new Realm system isn’t nearly as intimidating as those pages of written rules make it seem.
Of course, as testing continues, we’ll dive much deeper into strategies, squad composition, guild coordination, and Fort priorities. Today’s goal was simpler: to show that once all the rules come together, the gameplay itself is genuinely easy to follow. Hopefully this walkthrough helps everyone picture how the system works once it goes live.
If you still have questions about the new Fort mechanics, drop them in the comments and we’ll do our best to cover them in future videos as testing rolls on. A special thank you also goes out to Queen, Testie, Pyo, and MS.Looney for helping capture the footage used in this video — we truly appreciate your time and support during the testing process. It’s always great seeing the Hero Wars: Alliance creator community work together to help everyone understand the game better.
