Ginger Talisman Guide | Hero Wars Alliance

Ginger Talisman Guide

The Ginger Talisman Guide is here — and if you’ve been sleeping on this Progress faction veteran, it’s time to wake up. Ginger may not be the first name that comes up in team discussions anymore, but her talisman options create two genuinely different playstyles worth understanding. In this guide, we break down both talismans, how they interact with her kit, and when each one earns its place in battle.

About the Talisman Series

This series isn’t about picking the best talisman and moving on. The goal is to understand how a talisman changes a hero — whether one option is clearly superior, or whether both create different identities depending on the team and matchup. Talismans are unique because, unlike skins, glyphs, and artifacts, they remain one of the few ways to actively adapt how a hero behaves before every battle. Sometimes that difference is small. Sometimes it completely changes the outcome. That’s why talisman dynamics matter.

As always, whenever we refer to talisman stats, the fixed main stat comes first and the rerollable secondary stat comes second.

Who Is Ginger?

Ginger is one of the original damage dealers from the Progress faction — also known as the Engineers. She’s a straightforward Physical attacker, and while she doesn’t appear in team recommendations as often as she once did, she still has a place. Some players enjoy her, some need her for faction sets, and some simply want to make older heroes work. If that’s you, this Ginger Talisman Guide is for you.

She currently has access to two talismans, and they push her in noticeably different directions.

Ginger Talisman Guide hero overview

Talisman of Firearm — Stats and Overview

The Talisman of Firearm originally arrived as a free reward during the first rounds of Talisman Fever. At first glance, it looks like a natural fit for any traditional damage dealer.

Stat Type Stat
Main Stat (Fixed) Agility
Secondary Stat (Rerollable) Armour Penetration
Notable Value 40,000+ Armour Penetration

The combination of Agility and Armour Penetration is powerful because Agility directly boosts Physical Attack while the Armour Penetration allows that damage to convert more efficiently against armoured targets. Together, they create stronger and more reliable output across Ginger’s entire kit, since all of her abilities scale with Physical Attack.

Talisman of Artillery — Stats and Overview

The Talisman of Artillery was also free at launch, but it creates a completely different identity for Ginger. Instead of maximising raw output, it introduces an explosive, crit-based playstyle.

Stat Type Stat
Main Stat (Fixed) Crushing
Secondary Stat (Rerollable) Critical Hit Chance

Artillery trades Armour Penetration and a chunk of Physical Attack for critical interactions. On paper it looks weaker — but it opens up a different version of Ginger entirely. Heroes like Julius, Guus, and Oya benefit from and synergise with critical hit mechanics, and when Ginger is paired with those heroes, Critical Hit Chance becomes much more attractive.

Firearm vs Artillery — Which Ginger Talisman Wins?

This is where the Ginger Talisman Guide gets interesting, because the answer isn’t as clean as it is for some heroes.

From a skill interaction standpoint, Firearm leads clearly. Since all of Ginger’s abilities scale with Physical Attack, Agility’s direct boost applies across her entire kit. Add in over forty thousand Armour Penetration and you have stable, reliable output that converts efficiently against most targets.

However, role matters too. Ginger’s job is to pressure enemies, deal damage, and finish fights. Against teams without a dedicated tank, you may not need massive Armour Penetration at all. In those situations, Artillery’s explosive crit potential can shorten fights and synergise far better with your lineup. One version of Ginger is stable. The other is volatile — in a good way.

Our recommendation is still the Talisman of Firearm as the default. The Physical Attack and Armour Penetration feel more aligned with how Ginger naturally operates inside Progress teams. Nevertheless, Artillery absolutely deserves respect and can outperform in the right matchup.

How to Obtain Ginger’s Talismans

If you’re building Ginger today, the Talisman of Firearm is available through the Eternal Frontier Merchant for 700,000 coins whenever it rotates back. Keep an eye on the merchant and grab it as soon as you see it.

The Talisman of Artillery is currently much harder to obtain and there is no confirmed return window at this time. If it appears, treat it as a priority pickup — especially if you’re already running crit-synergy lineups.

Final Thoughts

Ginger may not be the meta darling she once was, but this Ginger Talisman Guide shows there’s still real decision-making here. Firearm is your stable, consistent choice. Artillery opens a different lane entirely — faster finishes, crit synergies, and situations where Armour Penetration simply isn’t needed. Train both. Test different opponents. With Ginger, your talisman choice may genuinely decide the outcome of the battle.
