Guus Relics First Look | Hero Wars Alliance
Welcome to our Guus Relics First Look, where we break down what the announcement actually tells us about Hero Wars Alliance’s golden-feathered Healer. Guus is the next Hero to enter the Relic era, and while the full mechanics aren’t ready to test yet, this could become a very interesting development for the Way of Honor. So instead of rushing to conclusions, we’re going to look at his current kit, the meta he’s walking into, and the exact questions his Relics need to answer.
Guus Is Entering the Relic Era
Guus is receiving four new Relic upgrades, but today is not the day to grade them. After all, a Relic description only tells us what should happen. The battlefield is where we find out what really happens, and that’s why Olympus Alliance always treats the description as step one, not the final verdict.
Still, there’s a reason we’re paying close attention to this one. Guus is already a Healer whose entire kit revolves around keeping allies alive, handing out Golden Feathers, boosting Critical Hits and protecting his team when things start going wrong. Adding a full Relic layer on top of that could shift how Honor compositions play.
Guus’ Current Kit at a Glance
Before Guus Relics arrive, it helps to understand what’s already happening inside his kit. Here’s a quick breakdown of each skill:
| Skill | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Under the Wing | Restores Health and gives Golden Feathers to allies. Each Feather increases an ally’s Critical Hit Chance for 8 seconds, and applying another Feather extends that duration. |
| Feather Squad | Gives Golden Feathers to allies positioned in front of Guus. While they carry a Feather, those Heroes restore Health whenever they take enemy damage. |
| Beak Peak | If an ally with a Golden Feather is about to drop below 25% Health, Guus restores part of it before that happens. More time left on the Feather means more healing, and the Feather is consumed afterward. |
| Honkageddon | Guus’ own Critical Hits no longer deal bonus damage. Instead, they heal allies around his target and give them Golden Feathers. Meanwhile, allies carrying a Feather deal increased Critical Hit damage, with Honor Heroes gaining extra damage based on their current Health. |
Put together, that’s healing, protection, Critical Hit Chance, Golden Feather management, emergency Health restoration and extra offensive potential for his allies, all in one Hero. In other words, Guus already juggles a lot before a single Relic is added. Now add Relics, and this announcement becomes much more interesting than simply saying “Guus is getting four new upgrades.”
Why the Timing of Guus Relics Matters
To understand why this matters, we need to look at what’s happening in the game around him. Recently, we’ve spent a lot of time testing teams built around enormous Pure Damage pressure, and Kendle is one of the biggest examples. Her Pure Damage becomes especially dangerous once it starts interacting with Critical Hits.
On top of that, we’ve seen teams involving Cleaver, Kendle, Aidan, Dorian and Byrna create an incredible cycle of friendly damage, healing, cleansing and Pure Damage pressure. That’s a very different problem from one you can solve by simply stacking more Armor or Magic Defense. As a result, any Hero who can keep allies standing through those damage cycles instantly becomes worth a closer look.
The Questions Guus’ Relics Need to Answer
So what happens if the new Relics significantly improve the defensive side of his kit? Here are the possibilities we’re most curious about:
- Could his Golden Feather mechanics become more effective at keeping allies alive through extremely aggressive damage cycles?
- Will his healing get strong enough to give Honor compositions more time against Kendle teams?
- Might one Relic introduce a completely new interaction that changes how Golden Feathers are used?
- Or will the biggest changes not be defensive at all, instead pushing Guus further into Critical Hits and turning him into an even stronger engine for Honor?
Honestly, we don’t know yet. That’s exactly why we won’t pretend otherwise. The announcement confirms Guus is receiving Relics, but it doesn’t give anyone permission to decide what they mean for the meta before the complete mechanics are out and tested.
How We’ll Test Guus Relics
Remember Julius? Reading his Relic descriptions told us what should happen, but it was only after testing different interactions, timings and teams that we discovered what those mechanics really meant. Guus deserves exactly the same treatment, and this Guus Relics First Look is only the starting point.
First, we’ll break down every Relic level by level:
- Level 1: the starting effect
- Level 10: what changes as the Relic grows
- Level 20: the important interaction
- Level 30: what the complete package actually adds
After that, we take him into battle. There are already three areas we want to put directly under the microscope.
Pure Damage
First on the list, we want to see Guus against the Kendle compositions we’ve been testing. If Pure Damage keeps growing in importance, we need to know whether his Relics give him any meaningful answer to that pressure.
Survivability
Next comes survivability. Guus already has multiple mechanics designed to stop allies from collapsing, so if his Relics strengthen that identity, the real question is how difficult an Honor team becomes to actually finish.
Critical Hits
Finally, there’s the Critical Hit angle, which is already fundamental to Guus. If the Relics interact with Critical Hits, Golden Feathers or the Heroes receiving them, there could be much more here than simply additional healing.
Final Thoughts on This Guus Relics First Look
For now, treat this Guus Relics First Look as your early warning that something potentially very interesting is coming. A Hero already built around healing, protection and Critical Hit interactions is about to receive a complete new layer of development. Plus, with Pure Damage, Kendle and some extremely aggressive compositions shaping current battles, the timing makes it even more intriguing.
Could Guus become an important answer to that pressure? Will Honor get a major defensive boost, or will his Relics take him in a completely different direction? Either way, as soon as everything is ready, we’ll go through each Relic properly and then test the interactions that actually matter, especially against the nastiest Pure Damage teams we can build. Stay tuned, stay sharp, and as always — salute and friendship.
