Julius Priority Guide 2026

Julius Priority Guide

Most Julius players are building him like a traditional tank — stacking armor and magic defense — and that mistake is costing them every fight. The real Julius Priority Guide starts with understanding a mechanic that most players overlook before they spend a single resource. Julius is built around shields, not raw defense, and that changes everything about how you should develop him.

Why Julius Is Not a Traditional Tank

At first glance, Julius looks like a straightforward frontline hero. Look closer at his stats, though, and the picture changes fast. His health sits at around 1.2 million, which is solid. But his armor is roughly 38,000 and his magic defense around 31,000 — both well below what you would expect from a competitive tank.

Many other tanks in Hero Wars Web can push past 50,000 armor or magic defense, sometimes significantly higher depending on team support and development. Julius simply does not compete on those raw numbers. If you judge him only by armor and magic defense, he may look like a liability on the frontline.

That comparison, however, is missing the point entirely. Julius fills his defensive gap through a completely different system — and once you understand it, his development priorities become very clear.

The Shield System That Makes Julius Tick

The heart of Julius’ kit is his Defense Matrix. This shield surrounds his entire team and absorbs incoming damage before any hero takes a hit. With around 320,000 damage absorption capacity, it acts as a frontline wall that protects every allied hero simultaneously — not just Julius himself.

When the Defense Matrix finally breaks, every allied hero receives healing of around 58,000 health. That combination of damage prevention and team recovery is what separates Julius from a standard armored tank. He is not just absorbing hits — he is running a defensive cycle that keeps the whole team healthier over the course of a fight.

Beyond Defense Matrix, Julius brings more layers to his protection. His Copycat Device adds another shield with around 132,000 capacity. Then Nine Lives Engine provides armor and magic defense bonuses of roughly 21,000 each — directly helping to cover the weakness in his base defensive stats. These skills work together to create a hero whose survivability comes from layered protection, not just high numbers on a single stat.

Why Physical Attack Is His Most Important Stat

Here is the part of the Julius Priority Guide that surprises most players. Three out of four of his skills scale with physical attack. That means physical attack directly determines how strong his shields are and how much value his kit delivers in every fight.

When you invest in physical attack on Julius, you are not building a damage dealer. You are strengthening the foundation of his entire defensive system. More physical attack means stronger Defense Matrix, better shield values, and more team protection on every activation. This is a completely different approach from how you would develop a standard tank, but it is exactly what Julius needs.

Keep that principle in mind throughout the rest of this guide. Every section — skins, items, glyphs, artifacts — follows the same logic. Whenever physical attack is available, it should be your first instinct.

Julius Priority Guide stats overview

Julius Skin Priority

Julius has six skins: Default, Masquerade, Demonic, Romantic, Beach, and Winter. Not all of them carry equal weight, and the Julius priority guide order here is important to follow correctly.

Romantic skin is your top priority. It provides physical attack, which directly scales his shields and improves the main mechanic keeping him and his team alive. This is the most impactful skin investment you can make on Julius.

Demonic skin comes second. Health is always valuable for a frontline hero, and on Julius it gives him the staying power to keep his shield cycle running under sustained pressure.

After those two, focus on the armor skin and magic defense skin. Julius stands in the frontline and will take direct hits when his shields are down or when enemies push through quickly. Both resistances have genuine value for covering those moments of exposure.

Strength follows after that. It does contribute to both health and physical attack, but the gains are less direct than what the Romantic or Demonic skins deliver on their own.

Winter skin is last. It gives armor penetration, which simply does not fit Julius’ role. You bring Julius for shields, team protection, and healing. Armor penetration does not support any of that, which is why Zeus himself has not developed this skin on his own Julius.

Julius Item Priority

Items offer less flexibility than skins because each rank has required components. Still, when you do have a choice about what to craft or upgrade first, physical attack items should always be your first target.

From there, shift your attention to armor or magic defense depending on what Julius needs most at that stage of his development. The logic remains consistent throughout — shields first, then the resistances that keep him standing when those shields are gone.

Julius Glyph Priority

Glyphs follow a clear order for Julius, and physical attack sits at the top.

# Glyph Reason
1 Physical Attack Directly scales his shield mechanics — highest impact glyph
2 Health Keeps him alive as the frontline anchor
3 Armor Useful when shields break and he takes physical pressure
4 Magic Defense Covers magic damage exposure in the same situations
5 Strength Has value but less direct than physical attack or health
6 Critical Hit Chance Julius is not a damage dealer — this adds very little to his role

Gift of the Elements

Gift of the Elements is straightforward for Julius. There are no branching decisions or competing stat choices here in the same way. Simply develop it as part of his natural progression and keep moving forward.

Julius Artifact Priority

Artifacts are where many Julius players make their second biggest mistake, after misreading his skins. The order here matters, so let’s be specific.

Ring of Strength is your first priority. At max level, it provides 6,249 strength, which translates into roughly 250,000 extra health. That is a massive survivability boost for a hero who stands in the frontline and needs to keep his shield cycle active under sustained attack. Even though Julius leans heavily on his shields, he still takes direct pressure when those shields are down. Ring of Strength gives him the time he needs to stay alive, reactivate his skills, and keep protecting the team.

Warrior’s Code comes second. It provides both critical hit chance and physical attack. The physical attack component is what makes this valuable for Julius — more physical attack means stronger shields and more output from the three skills that scale with it.

Catellite Dish rounds out the artifact priority in third place. This is his unique artifact, and when Julius activates Defense Matrix in battle, it can trigger a bonus critical hit chance buff for the whole team lasting 9 seconds. That team utility is genuinely useful, especially when you are running physical damage dealers alongside him. For Julius’ personal development priority, though, it does not compete with the health and physical attack gains from the first two artifacts.

Julius Ascension Priority

Ascension does not involve complicated decision-making for Julius, but the same rule applies: whenever you have the option to prioritize physical attack, take it. The entire Julius priority guide comes back to this same point. His shields are the foundation of everything he does, and physical attack is what makes those shields stronger.

Build Julius around the mechanics that make him powerful. Support that foundation with health, armor, and magic defense. Leave critical hit chance and armor penetration for last — neither of those stats serves his main role, and your resources are better spent elsewhere.
