Best Realm Fort Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
If your guild keeps losing troops on failed sieges, this best Realm Fort guide is for you. Realm Fortifications in Hero Wars Alliance can make a real difference to your guild’s progression, but capturing one takes far more than throwing your strongest troops at the walls.
Over the past few days, we’ve received plenty of questions about attacking Forts, organizing guild members and, above all, finding the strategy that gives you the best chance of success. In reality, a successful attack starts long before the first soldier reaches the enemy walls. It begins with preparation, coordination and, most importantly, communication.
Communication Comes First
Realm isn’t only about individual power; instead, it rewards how well your guild works together. Of course, guilds bring together players from different countries, time zones and daily routines, so some Guardians are working while others are asleep. That’s fine, because you don’t need your whole guild online to take a Fort.
In fact, a coordinated group of five to ten members can often make a significant difference, depending on the Fort you’re targeting and the strength of its defenders. What matters most is that everyone understands the plan.
This is where Discord, guild chat and in-game notifications become extremely useful. Before declaring war, contact your guild members, find out who’s available and build a group that can stay involved throughout the attack.
Quick tip: Turn on your Hero Wars: Alliance notifications on your phone. That way, game alerts reach your device directly, and responding when your guild needs backup becomes much easier.
Choosing Your Target: Read the Garrison First
Once your group is ready, it’s time to pick a target, but don’t rush it. Remember that only the Guild Master or a General can declare war on a Fortification, so make sure whoever holds that role is part of the preparation.
Before committing, study the Fort’s Garrison carefully. Compare the strength of its defenders with the troops your guild can realistically deploy. Attacking a Garrison that’s considerably stronger than your available forces can lead to heavy troop losses. As a result, a slightly less demanding target is sometimes the smarter play. In short, the Garrison tells you exactly what you’re walking into, so use that information.
Using the 30-Minute Preparation Phase
After you declare war, a thirty-minute preparation phase begins. Think of it as your window to organize the entire attack, and honestly, it’s the stage most guilds underuse. That’s why it sits at the heart of this best Realm Fort guide.
Recall Your Garrison Troops
Many players already have troops stationed in Forts their guild controls. If you want to hit the new target at full strength, those troops need to come home first. So, before the battle starts, check how long your Garrison takes to return.
For example, if your troops need roughly three minutes to get back to your Realm, you can recall them during the final five minutes of preparation. That leaves enough time to have everything ready when the timer hits zero.
Teleport Beside the Target Fort
Next comes positioning. Once your troops are back, we recommend that everyone joining the attack teleports their Realm directly beside the target Fort. Rather than marching across long distances, your guild then attacks from nearby positions, which cuts travel time and lets members respond much faster.
Ideally, by the time the preparation timer runs out, your whole attacking group should be gathered around the Fort with troops available and ready to move.
The 50-Minute Battle: Coordinate, Don’t Scatter
When preparation ends, your guild has fifty minutes to complete the attack. This is where coordination really pays off. Instead of everyone attacking at random, use what you learned from the enemy Garrison to organize your troops.
Let’s say you have three available queues. Before sending them in, look over the defending forces and identify the strongest Garrison positions. Then coordinate with your guild so your strongest attackers take on the toughest defenders, while other members support according to their own strength. That way, the guild spreads its forces intelligently rather than sending troops in blind.
The objective stays simple: defeat the defenders while keeping troop losses as manageable as possible.
Keep the Pressure On and Watch for Reinforcements
Once the Fort’s ten defending Guards (or Garrison units) have fallen, keep your attacks moving. At the same time, watch the Fort closely, because additional Garrison troops may arrive to reinforce it. If that happens, adapt. Rather than continuing blindly, bring in your stronger members to deal with the reinforcements, then resume the assault. Ultimately, the goal is steady pressure until every required defense is cleared and the Fort can be captured.
Heal Your Troops During the Fight
This step is easy to overlook. As soon as your first injured troops start arriving, begin their recovery in the Infirmary. Don’t wait for the battle to end! Starting treatment early helps you manage losses while the attack is still running. After all, capturing the Fort matters, but so does preserving your troops for future battles.
You Captured the Fort. Now Hold It
Everything went to plan, your guild cleared the defenders, and the Fort is yours. Still, don’t celebrate for too long, because capturing it is only half the job.
After a successful capture, there’s a thirty-minute protection period during which the Fort can’t be attacked. Use that time to coordinate with your guild and send ten strong Garrison members to defend your new position. Otherwise, there’s little benefit in taking an important Fort if your guild isn’t ready to hold it once that protection drops.
Why Forts Matter: Rating Points per Hour
Capturing a Fort isn’t just about owning another spot on the Realm map. Different Fortifications provide different benefits, and every Fort your guild holds also contributes toward your weekly ranking. Generally, the more Forts you capture and keep, especially higher-level ones, the more Rating Points your guild generates over time.
Over a full week, the gap between holding a low-level Fort and a high-level one becomes significant. However, that raises another strategic question, since it’s not always about capturing as many Forts as possible. Rather, it’s about choosing the Fortifications your guild can realistically capture, defend and maintain. A powerful Fort only generates points while you keep control of it. In addition, each Fortification offers its own bonuses and rewards, although those are a topic for another day.
Best Realm Fort Guide Checklist: Every Stage at a Glance
- Communicate: organize the guild members who are available.
- Scout: study the target and its Garrison before declaring war.
- Prepare: use the 30-minute window to recall troops and teleport beside the Fort.
- Attack: during the 50-minute battle, match your strongest attackers to the toughest defenders, handle reinforcements and keep up the pressure.
- Heal: start treating injured troops as soon as they arrive.
- Defend: use the 30-minute protection period to station ten strong Garrison members.
From start to finish, it’s a team effort. Indeed, that’s what makes this part of Realm so interesting, since a well-organized guild can sometimes achieve results that individual strength alone never could.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Realm PvP
There’s one more reason these habits are worth building now. As Realm continues to develop, more direct competition between players and guilds is certainly something to watch. We don’t want to speculate about mechanics that haven’t been confirmed. Even so, if Realm PvP becomes a bigger part of the experience, coordination, preparation, positioning and defensive planning could matter even more.
Whether you’re capturing your first Fort or pushing for a stronger weekly ranking, one thing stays the same: a coordinated guild is a stronger guild. Hopefully, this best Realm Fort guide gives your team a solid foundation to build on.
Now we’d love to hear from you. Does your guild prefer a small group of strong players, or larger attacks with as many members as possible?
