Mead Festival Full Guide | Hero Wars Dominion Era
Fifteen thousand Barrel Keys can turn into about 45 Robin soul stones, or they can turn into 495, depending only on where you spend them. That gap is the heart of this Mead Festival full guide, because almost every decision in the event comes down to where your keys and your Asgard Mead go.
Below, we break down how the event works, all five generators, the barrel odds, the shop, and how far you can realistically take Robin, the first brand-new pet since Vex.
Heads up: every number in this Mead Festival full guide comes from datamined files, so some figures and mechanics can still change at launch. Most importantly, all quest rewards are still hidden, and they decide how far free players can push Robin. The end-of-event conversion and the battle pass price are hidden too. We will update this guide as soon as the event goes live.
Mead Festival Full Guide: How the Event Works
The Mead Festival starts on Sunday, October 4, and runs for five days. However, this event is different from what we are used to. There are no battle stages and no event boss. Instead, the whole event runs on four things: quests, a Mead barrel, an event shop, and a set of special generators on the October Mysterious Island.
Once you see the loop, it is simple:
- You earn Barrel Keys from the Barrel Key generator on the Mysterious Island.
- Next, you open the barrel at 1,000 keys per pull. It drops Asgard Mead, Robin soul stones, and other resources.
- Finally, you spend your Asgard Mead in the event shop or on generator upgrades.
On top of that, Barrel Keys also count as battle pass points, so every pull also pushes your battle pass forward. Still, the key point of the whole event is this: Asgard Mead is the scarce currency. The barrel only drops it 10% of the time. As a result, deciding where every single Mead goes is the real strategy of this festival.
All Five Mead Festival Generators
The generators are where this event really happens. Five special generators appear on the Mysterious Island, and each one unlocks on a different day. All of them, however, shut down at the same time. That means a generator that opens later also runs for a shorter time.
The Barrel Key Generator
The first generator is also the most important one. It opens on Sunday, runs for the full five days, and powers the entire festival. In addition, it is the only generator paid for with emeralds. It produces keys every 8 hours across fifteen periods.
There is also a nice bonus here. The emeralds you spend on this generator count toward the “A Generous Soul” quest, which asks you to spend 180,000 emeralds during the event.
The Four Key-Powered Generators
Chaos Particle, Great Enchantment Rune, Bottled Energy, and Robin’s soul stone generator all share the same cost structure. The first two stages only cost Barrel Keys. From stage three onward, the key cost stays flat at 15,000, but every upgrade also asks for Asgard Mead.
Collection and Timing
Generator rewards stack, so you do not need to log in at the exact moment to collect them. Anything left uncollected also arrives by mail when the generators disappear. Timing still matters, though. As hwdaily points out, missing a generator’s first period completely reduces your rewards. For that reason, a late start on the Robin generator is especially costly, since it only runs for two days.
If you want to map out your own plan, our Mead Festival generator planner (linked at the bottom of this post) lets you pick a stage for every generator. It then shows your total emeralds, keys, and Mead, the full reward table for each generator, and what every next upgrade gives and costs.
Mead Barrel Odds
The barrel is where the Mead comes from, and it explains everything else in the event. Every pull costs 1,000 Barrel Keys, and these are the official odds:
Put simply, every 10,000 keys you put into the barrel return about one Mead and about 30 Robin soul stones on average. That is exactly why Mead is the bottleneck of the whole event.
This also explains the opening number. Fifteen thousand keys in the barrel give you, on average, about 45 Robin soul stones and one and a half Mead. Meanwhile, the same fifteen thousand keys in the Robin generator give you 495 Robin soul stones.
The Robin Generator, Level by Level
This is where the real trade-off begins. The first two levels only cost Barrel Keys, while every level after that also asks for Mead. So the useful question is how many extra stones each extra Mead buys you.
Now compare that with the shop. The event shop sells 1,000 Robin soul stones for 20 Mead, once. That works out to 50 stones per Mead. In other words, every single Robin generator upgrade beats the shop on a per-Mead basis, even level five.
Mead Festival Shop Value
The shop only takes Asgard Mead, and hwdaily rated every offer by its emerald value. Here are the headline items:
The single highest rating goes to 15 Bottled Energy for just 1 Mead. Close behind, the Legendary Gift of Dominion at 11 Mead is one of the best-value offers in the whole shop. Gear items are also available, ranging from 1 to 9 Mead.
How Far Can You Take Robin?
Robin needs 210 soul stones for three stars, 710 for four stars, 1,710 for five stars, and 3,710 for six stars. Those stones come from five places:
- Robin generator: 495 stones for keys alone, or 1,350 at max level with 12 Mead
- Event shop: 1,000 stones for 20 Mead, once
- Barrel: about 3 stones per pull on average
- Paid battle pass: 100 stones
- Quests: rewards still unknown
Three and Four Stars
Three stars is easy, since even a level-one Robin generator covers it. Four stars needs a little more, but a level-three generator with 3 Mead gives 765 stones and gets you there.
Five Stars
Five stars is possible, but it is tighter than it looks. A max-level Robin generator needs 12 Mead, and earning 12 Mead from the barrel alone takes around 120,000 keys. Those same pulls also drop about 360 Robin stones, which closes the gap from 1,350 to five stars.
Add the 15,000 keys for the generator itself, and the total comes to roughly 135,000 keys. A fully maxed Barrel Key generator, however, only makes 81,500. So even five stars leans on quest rewards and other key sources we cannot see yet. There is a hint those sources exist, though: the “Tasting” quest asks you to spend 170,000 Barrel Keys, which is more than double what the generator makes.
Six Stars
Six stars is a different story. Even the generator and the shop together only reach 2,350 stones, and getting both takes 32 Mead, far more than the barrel realistically provides. Consequently, the last 1,360 stones depend entirely on the hidden quest rewards.
The quest list itself is telling. “Crowd Favorite” asks for 9,000 VIP points, which come from purchases, and “A Generous Soul” asks for 180,000 emeralds spent. We saw a similar pattern in the Vex event, where the emerald-spending quest paid out a large amount of event currency. Based on confirmed sources, six stars is out of reach for now and will most likely lean on emeralds or packs. We will know for sure once the quest rewards go live.
Quests, Battle Pass, and Rankings
Most quests tie into things you already do every day, such as logging in, spending energy, spending Explorer’s Moves, and opening chests in the Outlands. As a result, your normal routine keeps filling them in the background. There are also quests for upgrading Robin himself: six stars, level 130, and Violet +3.
The battle pass levels up with Barrel Keys. Its paid track gives 100 Robin soul stones, plus larger amounts of catalysts, Wish Insignia, Wish Crystals, Titan Skin Stones, and more, although the price is not in the datamine yet. Finally, there is a personal ranking and a guild ranking, with an Absolute Elemental Spirit Summoning Sphere for first place. What the rankings are scored on is still unknown.
Planning Your Mead Festival
Sunday matters most. The Barrel Key generator runs the longest and feeds everything else, so an early start pays off across all five days.
Your keys are worth more on Wednesday. Fifteen thousand keys in the Robin generator return 495 stones, compared with roughly 45 from the barrel. Therefore, a reserve of keys held for Wednesday gets far more out of them.
The generator beats the shop per Mead. Robin generator upgrades return 60 to 90 stones per Mead, while the shop bundle sits at 50. If Robin is your focus, generator upgrades are the stronger first use of your Mead.
The other generators compete for the same budget. Chaos Particle, Rune, and Bottled Energy each ask for the same 15,000 keys and up to 12 Mead, so they make the most sense once your Robin plan is covered.
Mead Festival Checklist Before Sunday
- The Barrel Key generator gets the most value from a Sunday start, and its emeralds count toward the A Generous Soul quest.
- Mead is the bottleneck, with the barrel giving about one Mead per 10,000 keys.
- A key reserve for Wednesday pays off most, as long as the Robin generator’s first period is not missed.
- Robin generator upgrades beat the shop, at 60 to 90 stones per Mead versus 50.
- Three and four stars are within reach, five stars leans on quest rewards, and six stars will most likely need spending.
That wraps up our Mead Festival full guide for now. We will update it, along with the generator planner, with the quest rewards and end-of-event conversion as soon as the event goes live on October 4. In the meantime, how many stars are you aiming for with Robin, and where is your first Mead going?
