Metida Mechanic Explained

After our recent Metida videos, one question kept appearing in the comments, so here’s the Metida Mechanic Explained once and for all. There seems to be some confusion about how Metida’s Supreme Harmony works with the Elarite Titans, especially Orm. In particular, people keep asking why we talk about Orm receiving Metida’s Water bonus when he’s an Elarite Titan.

The Short Answer: Elarite Doesn’t Replace an Element

The answer is actually very simple. Being Elarite does not remove Orm’s original element. In other words, Orm is Elarite, but he is also a Water Titan. As a result, when we pair him with Metida, he interacts with Supreme Harmony as a Water Titan.

What Supreme Harmony Actually Does

Any Metida Mechanic Explained guide has to start with Supreme Harmony itself. Each surviving Titan of a given element unlocks a different team-wide benefit, and the Elarite effect sits alongside them as its own separate interaction:

For each surviving… Benefit What it does
Fire Titan Healing Metida heals all allies every second while Supreme Harmony is active
Water Titan Physical Attack Increases the Physical Attack of all allies
Earth Titan Speed All allies gain +10% speed
Elarite Titan Additional hit Applies an effect to one ally (highest Attack first); when that ally deals damage, Metida lands an extra hit

Notice that the Elarite row works differently from the other three. We’ll come back to it shortly, because that’s where most of the confusion starts.

Orm: Elarite AND Water

Let’s use Orm as the easiest example. If we put him into the Water composition we showed you, he doesn’t suddenly stop being Water just because he’s Elarite. Instead, he still contributes to the Water side of Supreme Harmony.

That means he helps activate Metida’s Water benefit, which increases the Physical Attack of the whole team. Better still, Orm himself benefits from that Physical Attack increase too. Honestly, this is exactly one of the reasons we were so interested in running Metida with Water.

Alecto and Pallant Work the Same Way

Alecto: Elarite AND Fire

Now let’s apply the same idea to Alecto. She is Elarite, but she’s also connected to Fire. So when we use her inside that Fire interaction, she still contributes to what Metida does with Fire.

And what does Fire give us through Supreme Harmony? Healing. For each surviving Fire Titan, Metida heals all allies every second while Supreme Harmony is active. Alecto can therefore join that Fire interaction while remaining an Elarite Titan, because these two things are not mutually exclusive.

Pallant: Elarite AND Earth

Exactly the same logic applies to Pallant, our Elarite Titan connected to Earth. When he’s used with Metida, he contributes to the Earth side of Supreme Harmony. In turn, Earth gives the team speed, with every surviving Earth Titan granting all allies a 10% speed increase.

So the easiest way to remember it is this: Orm brings the Water interaction, Alecto brings the Fire interaction, and Pallant brings the Earth interaction. Their Elarite identity simply doesn’t erase any of that.

Metida Mechanic Explained: The Elarite Additional Hit

This is where we think most of the confusion comes from. Supreme Harmony also has an Elarite effect, so some players see Orm counted for Water and wonder how he can also be Elarite. Similarly, others ask whether Alecto, while activating Fire, should also hand herself a completely separate Elarite buff.

However, the Elarite part of Supreme Harmony works differently from Fire, Water and Earth, and that distinction is extremely important. To recap the elemental side: Fire gives healing, Water gives Physical Attack, and Earth gives speed.

The Elarite interaction, on the other hand, is all about Metida’s additional hit. For each surviving Elarite Titan, Supreme Harmony applies an effect to one ally, prioritising Titans with the highest Attack. Then, whenever an affected ally deals damage, it’s Metida who lands an additional hit.

That’s the key part. Rather than being another traditional stat buff handed to every Elarite Titan, the Elarite effect enables Metida’s own additional-hit mechanic.

So when you see Orm treated as Water in our Water composition, it doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten he’s Elarite. Quite the opposite: he keeps his Water interaction, while his Elarite identity also counts toward the separate Elarite mechanic. Likewise, the same concept applies to Alecto with Fire and Pallant with Earth.

Think “AND”, Not “OR”

This overlap is exactly why Metida becomes much more interesting once you understand it. Asking whether a Titan is Elarite OR Water, Elarite OR Fire, or Elarite OR Earth is the wrong question. Instead, think of both identities together, then look at what each one contributes to Supreme Harmony.

Titan Identity Elemental contribution Elarite contribution
Orm Elarite + Water Physical Attack for all allies Counts toward Metida’s additional hits
Alecto Elarite + Fire Healing for all allies every second Counts toward Metida’s additional hits
Pallant Elarite + Earth +10% speed for all allies Counts toward Metida’s additional hits

Is Avalon Better Than Pallant?

This also explains why team building with Metida isn’t as simple as declaring one composition universally the best. For example, several people have asked whether Avalon is better than Pallant in the Earth team we showed. Unfortunately, there isn’t a universal answer, because it depends on what you’re fighting.

Different enemy compositions can call for different protection, control, damage or survivability. That’s why the teams we showed were high-synergy compositions we tested and wanted you to try, not three permanent teams to use against everything.

The Elarite Faction Still Isn’t Complete

There’s one more very important thing to keep in mind: the Elarite faction still isn’t finished, since we’re still waiting for the Summoner. Right now, we can already see how Orm, Alecto and Pallant interact with Metida through both their elemental identities and Elarite. Even so, the final piece of the faction is missing. Once it arrives, we’ll be able to test the complete Elarite system and see what Metida can really do with every piece available.

Quick Recap

For now, here’s the simple rule to take away from this Metida Mechanic Explained breakdown:

  • Orm is Elarite and Water.
  • Alecto is Elarite and Fire.
  • Pallant is Elarite and Earth.
  • None of them lose their elemental interaction just because they’re Elarite.
  • Metida’s Elarite effect is separate from her Fire, Water and Earth benefits — it enables the additional hits Metida herself performs when affected allies deal damage.

Hopefully that clears up the confusion we’ve been seeing in the comments. If there are still Metida interactions you’d like us to explain or test, let us know, because with a Titan this flexible, understanding exactly how the mechanics work matters just as much as finding the teams themselves.
