Gear and Glory Rewards Guide | Hero Wars Alliance
This Gear and Glory Rewards Guide wraps up the Balance of Power event series in Hero Wars Alliance, bringing Defiant Edge, Unbroken Bond and the Event Shop together into one plan. Over the past two guides, we covered the tasks and rewards of each event. Now, however, comes the part that really decides your progress: turning all that event currency into something meaningful for your Heroes.
This week’s shop has some genuinely interesting choices, including Luther’s new Ocean Echo Skin, Relic Shards for Satori and Cascade, and a few other resources worth a look. As always, we approach everything from a Free-to-Play perspective. Since every account has different priorities, we’ll lay out the options so you can decide what fits your own roster.
How Gear of Glory Works
Gear of Glory features three task categories: Day After Day, Defiant Edge and Unbroken Bond. The first is simple, while the other two tie directly into the strategies from our earlier guides.
Day After Day
This is the familiar login task. Just enter the game throughout the seven-day event and collect the rewards as they unlock.
Defiant Edge: 250 Tasks
In our first guide, we recommended aiming for 250 completed tasks. That target strikes a good balance between event progression and resource investment, especially after such a busy month of events.
Along the way, you’ll also pick up Yasmine’s Demonic Skin. This could become particularly interesting with next month’s new Hero, a Nature Tank. We don’t know yet exactly how that Hero will fit into future teams, but Yasmine is certainly worth keeping in mind as those possibilities open up. For the full breakdown, check our Defiant Edge Rewards Guide.
Unbroken Bond: 30 Tasks
Unbroken Bond spans eight task categories, from Titan Summoning and Skin Stones to Realm activities. Our recommended target there was 30 completed tasks, and reaching that milestone rewards Phobos’s Dark Depths Skin.
In other words, across these two events we’re not just collecting currency for the shop. We’re also unlocking two extra Hero Skins through normal progression, which is always a welcome bonus.
Projected Rewards for Free-to-Play Players
Following our recommended Free-to-Play approach across Defiant Edge, Unbroken Bond and Gear of Glory, here’s what the full event series should deliver:
That’s a very nice haul, especially since we deliberately took a more conservative approach this week. After a month full of demanding events, giving your inventory a little room to recover makes sense. Of course, Guardians who complete extra milestones can earn more; these numbers simply show what’s achievable without pushing every task to its maximum.
Gear and Glory Rewards Guide: What to Buy in the Event Shop
This week’s shop recommendations depend heavily on one Hero: Luther. So before spending a single Sigil, it’s worth deciding where he sits in your plans.
Luther’s Ocean Echo Skin
Luther’s new Ocean Echo Skin provides additional Toughness. When fully upgraded, the base skin adds 2,960 Toughness, which makes it a real upgrade for anyone actively using him. In addition, his recent Relics have given Luther some interesting options, particularly in specific counter-team situations.
There’s an important distinction, though, between the regular skin and its Superskin version. The Superskin requires an extra 300,000 Balance Sigils, and following our Free-to-Play strategy, we simply won’t have enough currency to reach it. Therefore, if Luther is a priority, the regular Ocean Echo Skin is the sensible target, with the remaining Sigils invested elsewhere.
Relic Shards: Satori or Cascade?
This time, the shop offers Relic Shards for two Heroes, and both deserve attention for different reasons.
Satori is currently the more relevant option in the meta. As a result, his shards are an attractive investment for Guardians already developing him, helping you progress toward valuable Relic upgrades.
Cascade, on the other hand, has very interesting synergy with Eva. If you’re building an Eva-based team, Cascade could become an important part of that strategy. While Satori is the more established choice right now, Cascade is definitely worth considering for players built around that combination.
There’s also a bonus reason to care about Relic Shards: they’ve returned to Guild Versus tasks on Days One and Four. Collecting shards now can help you prepare for future Guild Versus objectives too, especially if you haven’t unlocked the relevant Relics yet. Either way, you’re investing in both Hero development and future event progression.
Leftover Sigils: Skin Stones
If you still have Balance Sigils after your main purchases, Skin Stones are one of our preferred options. They’re always useful, especially when several Heroes are waiting on important skin upgrades.
One small detail is worth remembering: whenever possible, buy the specific Skin Stone colour you actually need. Those are generally a better investment than the Skin Stone Chests, because they direct resources straight to the Heroes you’re developing. Meanwhile, Realm resources and Hero Equipment are also available, but their prices are relatively high compared with the other options, so they wouldn’t be our priority this week.
What If You Don’t Use Luther?
This is where the recommendations change. Although Luther can be very useful, particularly in certain counter-team compositions, he isn’t essential for every account. His defensive value also depends heavily on his development, especially whether you plan to take his Relics all the way to Gold.
So if Luther isn’t part of your current strategy, there’s no need to feel pressured into the skin just because it’s available. Remember, the regular Ocean Echo Skin can also show up later through Outland. In that case, you’ll likely get more value from Relic Shards for Heroes you use regularly, or from Skin Stones that support your existing plans.
Ultimately, the best purchase isn’t necessarily the most expensive one. It’s the one that actually moves your account forward.
Final Thoughts
That completes our Balance of Power coverage and this Gear and Glory Rewards Guide: three events, two extra Hero Skins through task progression, a substantial pile of resources and several meaningful shop choices. Whether you go for Luther’s Ocean Echo Skin, invest in Satori or Cascade Relic Shards, or stick with Skin Stones, the key is matching your Sigils to the Heroes you actually play.
